David Haye V’s The Klitschko’s

wladimir500By Michael Payne: David Haye (22 – 1, 21 KOs) has got his chance to fight Wladimir Klitschko (52-3, 46 KOs) which will be in Germany at Arena Aufschalke the home of Shalke football club. However if reports are proved to be correct then he will not only have a tough time winning the fight but also a tough time keeping hold of the title. It has been reported (although not confirmed by the Klitschko camp) that if Haye wins he must give a rematch to Wladimir & if he wins that he must then take on his big brother Vitali, so it could be three long hard fights for the Haymaker.

His primary concern first of all will be younger brother Wlad. Wlad is obviously a far more seasoned heavyweight than David but he is ruling in an era that is weaker than it has been in the times of greats such as Ali, Frazer, Foreman & Tyson. Haye obviously feels he is the man to show him up. There is no way I can see this fight going the distance. I see Wladimir looking to bully Haye with his size & weight advantage & ultimately embarrass him. Haye will need to use his speed advantage against the more technically gifted of the Klitschko’s, use the ring & take his time. It is a dangerous fight for both men but I think with David’s speed & knockout ability (even against the bigger men) if he fights wisely & doesn’t take too many shots he can pull this off & stop Wlad. I believe he is the far more talented of the two & will be able to win in both fights if there is a rematch. I predict Haye to stop Wlad in the mid rounds.

Vitali Klitschko (37 – 2, 36 KOs) I see as the far more testing fight for David Haye. Although I believe him to be lacking some of the boxing ability of his brother there is no doubt he is the heavier hitter & all but one of his wins have ended with a stoppage. The fight plan will be very similar for both as in the Wladimir fight. David will need to utilize speed & his freshness because if it goes to later rounds I think he will be the fresher man. If he takes his time, picks his shots & keeps a good defense he can win this one, although he will be a big underdog. Klitschko like his brother will use his size & power trying to unload his big shots. He will need to cut the ring off from Haye otherwise he could find himself punching mid air. If he does this, one good shot can end this fight in his favor. If he cannot do this Haye will pick his boxing ability apart & stop him in the latter rounds.

Overall I see this as an interesting time for the heavyweight division. Will the Klitschko’s re-enforce the positions at the top of the tree or will there be a new heavyweight king?
