By William Mackay: World Boxing Association (WBA) light welterweight champion Amir Khan (23-1, 17 KO’s) says he plans on fighting WBO light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (26-0, 11 KO’s). On Khan’s Twitter page, Khan had this to say about Bradley: “I’ll fight Tim Bradley. It’s the first time he has called me out. I’m going to Vegas and talk to Golden Boy [Khan’s promotional company that handles his boxing career]. I would love the fight. Good style for me. I’m fighting Timothy Bradley next. I’m gonna tell Golden Boy. Let’s see if they want it for real. Talk is cheap.”

By Jim Dower: Timothy Bradley (26-0, 11 KO’s) was successful in his first fight at welterweight on Saturday night, defeating the previously unbeaten power-punching welterweight contender Luis Carlos Abregu (29-1, 23 KO’s) by a 12 round unanimous decision at the Agua Caliente Casino, in Rancho Mirage, California. The final judges’ scores were 118-110, 117-111 and 116-112. After the fight, Bradley, 26, mentioned wanting to fight Manny Pacquiao, Amir Khan, Marcos Maidana and Devon Alexander.

Timothy Bradley wins unanimous decision over Abregu

By Sam Gregory: On the July 17th edition of HBO’s Boxing After Dark from the Agua Caliente Casino, Rancho Mirage, Calif. undefeated WBO junior welterweight champion Timothy “Desert Storm” Bradley 25-0 with 11 KO’s takes on Luis Carlos Abregu 29-0 with 23 KO’s in a scheduled 12 round none title bout in the welterweight division.

At the opening bell Abregu, who normally fights in the orthodox stance quickly switched to the southpaw stance in this round. Both men threw their jab testing their opponent; Abregu circled to his right which did throw Bradley off somewhat. After the closing bell in this round Bradley suffered “a small cut from an accidental butt”.

By William Mackay: WBO light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (26-0, 11 KO’s) did what he had to do to grind out a 12 round unanimous decision over Luis Carlos Abregu (29-1, 23 KO’s) on Saturday night at the Agua Caliente Casino, in Rancho Mirage, California. It was the 26-year-old Bradley’s first fight at welterweight, and it was supposed to be an impressive outing for him so that he could get a big money fight against mega stars Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao. It didn’t work out that way, though. Bradley clearly won, beating Abregu by the scores of 118-110, 117-111 and 116-112.
