By Eric Baldwin: WBA welterweight champion Keith Thurman wants his fight against WBC welterweight champion Danny Garcia to be viewed by a huge audience of 6 million viewers this Saturday night in their fight on Showtime Championship Boxing on CBS. It’s certainly possible that the Thurman-Garcia fight could be seen by that many boxing fans, as Thurman’s fight against Shawn Porter was seen by a peak of 3.94 million viewers on CBS last July, and that was an opponent that wasn’t a world champion and arguably isn’t as popular as Garcia.

Boxing: Warriors vs. Wannabes

By Angel Flowers:

THE BUSINESS OF BOXING

Boxing is a business much like any other business, the goal is to make a decent amount of money with the less amount of risk. Some boxers like any business do not mind taking the maximum risk available with little money in order further than brand, like a small company risking it all to advertise during the super bowl. Often though some boxers tend to romanticize themselves as wanting to fight the best opposition available regardless of the risk/rewards ratio, this is often a lie than experienced boxing professionals can see through easily.

Danny Garcia: The Thurman fight is for my legacy

Image: Danny Garcia: The Thurman fight is for my legacy

By Jim Dower: WBC welterweight champion Danny “Swift” Garcia (33-0, 19 KOs) views his fight against WBA champion Keith “One Time” Thurman (27-0, 22 KOs) as a fight that will help shape his legacy when the two of them fight each other in less than two weeks on March 4 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Garcia wants to add Thurman’s scalp to his collection of scalps, and adding his WBA 147lb title will definitely help his career. Thurman would be the biggest name on Garcia’s resume next to his wins over Lucas Matthysse and Amir Khan. Those wins came a while ago, and Garcia hasn’t beaten a big name since his the Matthysse fight four years ago.

Broner interested in Pacquiao or Garcia-Thurman winner

Image: Broner interested in Pacquiao or Garcia-Thurman winner

By Jim Dower: Adrien Broner (33-2, 24 KOs) says he’s done fishing after beating Adrian Granados (18-5-2, 12 KOs) by a 10 round split decision last Saturday night, and he’s now open to fighting Manny Pacquiao or the winner of the Danny Garcia vs. Keith Thurman fight. Broner says that he’s capable of competing with the best fighters in the 147 lb. division, although he says he broke his left hand in beating Granados at the Cintas Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. If the hand is broken, it’s going to take time for Broner to heal and come back from the injury.

It was thought that Broner, 27, would try and get back down to the 140 lb. division for his next fight, because he did not shine in defeating Granados. But it appears that Broner plans on fighting at welterweight in his next fight if he can get a fight against one of the top fighters.

Angel Garcia says he heard Thurman drinks and smokes the hookah

Image: Angel Garcia says he heard Thurman drinks and smokes the hookah

By Dan Ambrose: WBC welterweight champion Danny Garcia’s father/trainer Angel Garcia says that he heard that WBA 147lb champion Keith “One Time” Thurman was in Las Vegas drinking and smoking the hookah. Garcia says Thurman drinks and smokes a lot. For that reason, Angel feels that Thurman won’t be beating Danny Garcia (33-0, 19 KOs) in their fight on March 4 on Showtime Boxing on CBS at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Angel has been doing a lot of talking about Thurman while Danny has been mostly quiet in the run up to the fight. It appears that Angel is trying to get under Thurman’s skin to anger him and throw him off his game when he gets inside the ring next month.

Errol Spence will break Brook down says Thurman

Image: Errol Spence will break Brook down says Thurman

By Scott Gilfoid: Keith Thurman sees the match between IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook and challenger Errol Spence as a potentially close one, but he mostly sees the fight as a potential knockout for the unbeaten U.S fighter Spence. Thurman believes that Spence is going to be looking to knockout Brook in their fight on May 27 due to the fight taking place in the UK.

Thurman sees Spence being committed to looking for the knockout in this fight, because he’s going to be the visiting fighter. Thurman thinks that Brook’s recently busted right eye socket won’t be a problem for him in this fight, but that he’ll possibly get broken down just the same.
