Image: Ortiz sees Khan easily beating MaidanaBy Eric Thomas: Previous Marcos Maidana victim Victor Ortiz thinks that WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan will easily beat Maidana this Saturday night when the two tangle in a fight that has a lot riding on it at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ortiz, 23, was stopped in the 6th round by Maidana last year in a fight that saw both fighters trade multiple knockdowns. Ortiz lost when he quit in the 6th when the going got a little too rough for him and he is still trying to rebuild his career ever since.

Maidana says he’ll study Khan for a few rounds and adjust to his style

Image: Maidana says he'll study Khan for a few rounds and adjust to his styleBy William Mackay: WBA light welterweight interim champion Marcos Maidana (29-1, 27 KO’s) plans on making adjustments to the style of World Boxing Association (WBA) light welterweight champion Amir Khan (23-1, 17 KO’s) on Saturday night at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Khan has the speed advantage over Maidana, and will no doubt be trying to use it by throwing fast shots and getting away before Maidana has a chance to throw back at him. It’s going to be a real test to see if Maidana can cut off the ring and force Khan to slug it out with him like he wants him to.

Khan vs. Maidana: Is Amir too confident for his own good?

Image: Khan vs. Maidana: Is Amir too confident for his own good?By Dan Ambrose: If you look at some of the comments that both Amir Khan and his trainer Freddie Roach have been making recently about the upcoming fight with challenger Marcos Maidana (29-1, 27 KO’s), it seems like neither of their feet are on the ground. Khan, whose ego took a big hit when he was destroyed by Breidis Prescott two years ago, has recovered from that loss and now sees himself as in the same class as the best fighters in boxing and often talks about a hoped for future fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. next year.

Does the Klitschko fight being canceled damage pay per view sales on Saturday?

Image: Does the Klitschko fight being canceled damage pay per view sales on Saturday?By Dallan o’ Donnell: With Wladamir Klitschko pulling out of his scheduled heavyweight title defence against Dereck Chisora on Saturday night in Germany with an apparent back injury, the question that needs to be asked is has this damaged pay per view sales on a bill that has been depleted? I would think so. Not only has the Klitschko-Chisora fight been called off but the whole undercard has gone also, leaving Sky, the broadcaster with just the bill from Liverpool and the Amir Khan fight against Marcos Maidana in Las Vegas.

The fight will be taking place in the neutral venue Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Khan, 24, will likely have more fans present at the fight, but Maidana, with his huge power, has a way of creating fans in an instant with his huge power shots and his exciting style of fighting.

Khan-Maidana: How many big shots can Amir take without going down?

Image: Khan-Maidana: How many big shots can Amir take without going down?By Dan Ambrose: World Boxing Association (WBA) light welterweight champion Amir Khan (23-1, 17 KO’s) has one of the weaker chins of the top light welterweights in the division. Khan also has some of the best hand speed, foot movement and defensive skills among the top fighters in the division. Those attributives may or may not keep him upright and carry him to victory on Saturday night against challenger Marcos Maidana (29-1, 27 KO’s). However, Maidana hits harder than most of the fighters in the division and has good enough to stop Khan at any moment in the fight if he lands something big enough.

Haye sees Khan dominating and possibly stopping Maidana

Image: Haye sees Khan dominating and possibly stopping MaidanaBy Scott Gilfoid: WBA heavyweight champion David Haye is predicting that his good friend and fellow Brit World Boxing Association (WBA) light welterweight champion Amir Khan (23-1, 17 KO’s) will dominate WBA light welterweight interim champion Marcos Maidana (29-1, 27 KO”s) on Saturday night in Las Vegas. The prediction is kind of useless, though, because of Haye’s close friendship with Khan. I mean it isn’t as if Haye is going to pick against his good buddy Khan and go with Maiana, a foreigner to Haye.

The Rage of Marcos Maidana

Image: The Rage of Marcos MaidanaBy Francisco Hernandez: Sing, O goddess, the rage of Marcos Maidana son of Argentina, who will bring countless pain upon Amir Khan. When Amir Khan steps into the ring to face Marcos Maidana, he will be facing a man with a rage trembling within him. For Marcos Maidana, Amir Khan represents everything that he hates: pretension and privilege. Marcos had to work for his place in boxing. No one paved the road to his fame as a boxer; Maidana had to travel through the rough road, where beasts and robbers abound. His handlers saw nothing in him but a piece of flesh to exploit and get the most money out of.
