When Amir Khan steps into the ring to face Marcos Maidana, he will be facing a man with a rage trembling within him. For Marcos Maidana, Amir Khan represents everything that he hates: pretension and privilege. Marcos had to work for his place in boxing. No one paved the road to his fame as a boxer; Maidana had to travel through the rough road, where beasts and robbers abound. His handlers saw nothing in him but a piece of flesh to exploit and get the most money out of. Maidana was thrown against anyone without regard for risk or future. Marcos overcame the odds with a right fist made of steel, and a heart burning with rage. Marquitos Maidana views Amir Khan as a privileged rich kid, who speaks with a lisp, a snob, a hypocrite, a symbol of everything that Maidana hates. There is nothing more that Maidana wants than to knockout the pompous Khan.

Amir Khan may have ambition to motivate him to win against Maidana, but Maidana has something more substantial, something more powerful –rage. Deep within Maidana’s heart burns the fire of rage, rage at all those who have cheated him or attempted to cheat him out of his due reward as a boxer, financial and otherwise, while the system has done everything to benefit Amir Khan. Marcos Maidana is a rugged individual, raised in the country, his body and mind hardened from years of torturous farm work when he was a child. His punching power was forged from this hard work. When young Amir Khan laid on a velvet couch watching television in his London Pad, little Marquitos was milking cows and stacking bales of hay in the Argentine countryside.

Marcos Maidana, a country boy at heart, despises Khan’s insolence and lust of gain for nothing. Maidana rages to set things right for once in this world by knocking Khan into oblivion. Out of Amir Khan’s corner we will hear the wailing of legend Freddie Roach and his team as they see their hero Khan, laying face first on the canvas, oblivious to the ring lights. We will hear the wailing of Khan’s fans as they see their paper tiger shredded to pieces. Beware the rage of Maidana.
