mayweather223By Bob Smith: In this article, I list the ESPN pound for pound top 10, and the most difficult fights that they can possibly face this year. Many of the fights are unlikely for that very reason, but no boxer is invulnerable, and some very famous boxers would not do very well against realistic competitors. If there is no one who can challenge the boxer at that weight, I list “no one”; if there is a challenge, I list the P4P star’s odds of victory – not the betting odds, but the odds that they will win.

#1 Floyd Mayweather – @140 – no one; @147 – no one; @154 – Erislandy Lara, 3 to 1; Sergio Martinez, 3 to 2; Gennady Golovkin, 3 to 2.

#2 Andre Ward – @168, Gennady Golovkin, 3 to 1; Julio Ceaser Chavez, 3 to 1; @175, Julio Ceaser Chavez, 4 to 1; Bernard Hopkins, 3 to 1; Adonis Stevenson, 3 to 2; Sergey Kovalev, 3 to 2.

#3 Timothy Bradley – @147, Devon Alexander, 3 to 1; Keith Thurman, 3 to 2; Robert Guerrero, 3 to 2; Manny Pacquaio, 2 to 3; Floyd Mayweather, 1 to 4;

#4 – Juan Manuel Marquez – @140, Amir Khan, 3 to 2; Lamont Peterson, 1 to 1; Lucas Matthyse, 3 to 4; Danny Garcia, 3 to 4; @147, Keith Thurman, 3 to 2; Robert Guerrero, 1 to 1; Timothy Bradley 1 to 3; Manny Pacquaio, 1 to 3; Floyd Mayweather, 1 to 4;

#5 Manny Pacquaio – @140, no one; @147, Floyd Mayweather, 2 to 3;

#6 Guillermo Rigondeaux – @122, Leo Santa Cruz, 3 to 1; @126, no one

#7 Wladimir Klitschko – @heavyweight, no one

#8 Sergio Martinez – @154, Mayweather, 2 to 3; @160, Golovkin, 2 to 3

#9 – Danny Garcia – @140, Juan Manuel Marquez, 4 to 3; Floyd Mayweather, 1 to 4

#10 – Gennady Golovkin – @154, Sergio Martinez, 2 to 3, Floyd Mayweather, 2 to 3; @160, Sergio Martinez, 3 to 2; @168, Julis Ceaser Chavez, 3 to 2; Carl Froch, 1 to 1; Andre Ward, 1 to 3

Am I missing someone? Are some of these predictions unrealistic? Please let me know. I know that many of these fights will not happen for a variety of reasons, but I included all potential weight classes and all potential competitors for each ranked top 10 P4P fighter.
