By Al Hmiel: What does WHO welterweight champion Tim Bradley (31-0, 12 KO’s) need to do to win over the Boxing fan base? Tim has a perfect record unblemished but dubious questionable victories over Manny Pacquiao and Russian Ruslan Provodnikov in the past, and yet some boxing fans have almost labeled Bradley a pariah in the sport. Clean cut, well spoken and articulate with a clean record in and out of the ring almost makes Tim Bradley shunned by some boxing fans and experts worldwide.
Never a hint of a scandal or any real embarrassing moments and a father of three and a happily married man one would think Tim Bradley is living the perfect life? But boxing fans seem to despise Tim and his beating of Manny and the final judges decision. Now after beating Juan Manuel Marquez decisively on pay-per-view in October, Bradley, once again comes out victorious in the fight but losing in the public’s eye. What’s a champion have to do to win over the fans and gain their respect and their support? Lose the big fights and keep smiling?
It almost seems unfair that Bradley is not getting the proper respect and admiration that comes with a championship and beating the best fighters and having a perfect boxing record. Why won’t fans accept Tim Bradley as their undefeated Boxing champion and appreciate the clean cut clean living decent and good family man. Tim Bradley is a role model in and out of the boxing ring with good qualities kids can look up to and admire.
With or without the boxing fans respect Tim will continue his quest to be the best champion in his class and continue to beat anyone put in front of him. A champion in the ring but also a champion in life and as a Father and husband and role model is Tim Bradley. Appreciate him while you can.
