Donaire vs. Darchinyan II. Is it a guaranteed bet?

donaire145By Gerardo Granados: Next Saturday night the former multiple division champions veteran Vic Darchinyan and Nonito Donaire will face for the second time since 2007. Last time the Armenian Raging Bull was the favorite but now it seems that only a few give him a good chance to defeat a younger lion in the Filipino Flash. The betting odds are really uneven going up to 12 – 1, but the heart and determination of the veteran lion cannot be measured until the fight takes place.

In their first meeting Darchinyan looked too confident and didn’t respect Donaire´s power and end up knocked out. If his game plan is the same then he is into a rough night. Nonito edges Vic in almost all the important tangibles and intangibles of the game, but it will be interesting to see if he is still able to make the super bantam weight limit and also confirm if he is already fully recovered from his right shoulder surgery.

Darchinyan fighting style might be tailor made for Donaire, but you can bet that Vic will engage and won’t run around shutting off the rounds while only countering; he will fight the way he always does giving fight fans the excitement that they come to see. I am betting on a great fight that will please fight fans, just as last weekend Giovani Segura vs. Hernan Marquez intense war that will be considered for the Boxingnews24 fight of the year award.

Vic has nothing to lose and has everything to win and that makes him even more dangerous than the betting odds tendencies might predict. Meanwhile Nonito risks a lot more than just a defeat, he must win in an impressive fashion; if Donaire was to lose or worst re-injuring his shoulder then he could end struggling to revive his boxing career.
So Ladies and Gentlemen have you placed your bet yet?
