Angel feels that his son Danny gave Morales too much respect in their fight earlier this year in March.

Garcia, 24, easily won that fight by a 12 round unanimous decision by the scores of 117-110, 116-112 and 118-109. Garcia did suffer some damage along the way, having his nose broken from one of Morales’ hard jabs.

Angel Garcia said to Primerahora.com “We were willing to fight anyone at 140 pounds and there had been names mentioned like Zab Judah and Juan Manuel Marquez, but we understand that Morales is a veteran name…It will be in our home and now I dare say that Danny is going to knock him out…We gave him too much respect.”

If Garcia can stop Morales it will be the first time that Morales has been beaten since he was stopped by Manny Pacquiao in November 2006. Pacquiao knocked Morales out twice in that year, but he did it by fighting hard and attacking him nonstop. Garcia will have to change his fighting style if he wants to get a stoppage, because he won’t get a KO over Morales if he hangs back and fights sparingly like he did last time. Garcia knocked Morales down in the 11th round, but it was more of a flash knockdown than a case of Morales being hurt.

Morales hasn’t fought since losing to Garcia, and it’s possible he’ll have some ring rust from all that time off.

Garcia is coming off of an impressive 4th round TKO win over Amir Khan on July 14th of this month. Garcia was able to knock Khan down twice to get the stoppage win.
