Broner: Whoever thinks Pacquiao will beat me is a damn fool!

1-LR_BRONERALLAKHVERDIEV-PRESSER-0019By Chris Williams: Four division world champion Adrien “The Problem” Broner (31-2, 23 KOs) took a shot at Manny Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KOs) and his legion of fans today on social media by saying that whoever thinks that Pacquiao can beat him is a fool. This comes after Broner, 26, recently said that he wants to beat the Pacquiao and him back to the Philippines in defeat so he focus on his political career.

Despite the talk from Pacquiao’s promoters at Top Rank about the Pacquiao-Broner talk being little more than nonsense, it seems that it’s a fight that can happen on April 9th next year in Las Vegas, Nevada. It seems that Pacquiao might not too be happy with the three less than thrilling choices that his 84-year-old promoter Bob Arum selected for him to pick from in Tim Bradley, Terence Crawford and Amir Khan.

Broner: Pacquiao’s adviser called me about a fight

broner46By Chris Williams: WBA World light welterweight champion Adrien “The Problem” Broner (32-2, 23 KOs) says that Michael Koncz, the adviser for Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KOs), called him recently to discuss a potential fight between him and Pacquiao for April.

Broner is very interested in that fight, and says he’s waiting to hear back from Koncz.

Broner vs. Pacquiao would be a nice fight for HBO pay-per-view if could be made. The 5’7″ Adrien Broner would be like a mini-Floyd Mayweather Jr., and it would give Pacquiao the chance to beat him and possibly setup a second fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr, depending on how badly he defeats Broner.

If it were a total wipe-out like Pacquiao’s past wins over the likes of Ricky Hatton and Chris Algieri, then the chances of Mayweather coming out of retirement to avenge Broner’s loss would increase.

Pacquiao vs. Broner a possibility for April 9th

LR_BRONER VS ALLAKHVERDIEV-FIGHT NIGHT-3423(Photo credit: Stephanie Trapp/SHOWTIME) By Chris Williams: Manny Pacquiao’s adviser Michael Koncz is saying that WBA World light welterweight champion Adrien Broner (31-2, 23 KOs) is one of the possibilities for Pacquiao’s next fight on April 9th in 2016. Broner, 26, joins the other three fighters that Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank has personally hand-picked for Pacquiao to select from.

Pacquiao was supposed to have announced the name of his next opponent last Friday night during the Top Rank truTV card headlined by Felix Verdejo vs. Josenilson Dos Santos, but Pacquiao opted not to make a decision at that time. Arum is now hoping that Pacquiao will make his decision by the end of December so that he can start marketing the fight.
