Roach hopes Mayweather will return after Bradley for Pacquiao rematch

roach4By Chris Williams: Trainer Freddie Roach is looking forward to his fighter Manny Pacquiao’s next fight against WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (33-1-1, 13 KOs) on April 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Roach is hoping that if Pacquiao beats Bradley, Floyd Mayweather Jr. will want to come out of retirement to face Pacquiao in a second fight. That’s something that Roach wants, because he seems to believe that he can guide a healthy Pacquiao to victory in a second bout.

I don’t know why Mayweather would suddenly want to fight Pacquiao against just because he defeated Bradley yet again, but that’s how Roach sees it.

Pacquiao doubts Bradley can change fighting style

Manny PacquiaoBy Allan Fox: Manny Pacquiao will be facing Tim Bradley for a third time in three months from now on April 9 at the MGM Grand, in Las Vegas, Nevada. According to rappler.com, Pacquiao is saying that his promoter Bob Arum was the one who selected Bradley for the third fight and not him.

Pacquiao says he didn’t care who he fought. He just wanted to fight. If this is true that Arum selected Pacquiao’s fight with Bradley then that runs counter to the belief that it was Pacquiao supposedly being the one that hand-picked the 32-year-old Bradley for the fight.

Manny Pacquiao vs. Timothy Bradley: Why This Is The Fight That No One Cares About

1-MAYPAC WEIGH IN-TRAPPFOTOS-3699By Matthew J. Hunter: As reported December 30th, 2015 by the Manila Times by Bob Arum, “It’s a done deal and it’s going to be a third fight against Timothy Bradley. Pacquiao-Bradley 3: Will Teddy Atlas make a difference for Tim?

atlasBy Chris Williams: Top Rank promoter Bob Arum feels that having trainer Teddy Atlas with WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley (33-1-1, 13 KOs) could help improve interest and obviously pay-per-view sales for his third fight against Manny Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KOs) on April 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Whether it will play out that way is unclear. What would seem more important to the boxing fans is whether Atlas can help Bradley, 32, beat Pacquiao legitimately without controversy this time, because the only victory that Bradley has in their previous two fights was a controversial 12 round decision in 2012.

Fans believe that Bradley was given a gift decision by the judges that worked the fight, and it’s hard to argue against that belief if you take the time to sit down and watch the fight on video. Bradley fought well at times, but Pacquiao was a little better in almost every round of the fight.

Will Bradley’s leg problems continue against Pacquiao?

bradley000By Allan Fox: In two fights against Manny Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KOs), we’ve seen Timothy Bradley (33-1-1, 13 KOs) come up with various leg injuries in both fights that have supposedly plagued his performances and slowed him down to the point where he couldn’t move around the ring.

Now with Bradley signed for a third fight against Pacquiao on April the 9th, we could be looking at Bradley suffering additional leg injuries in their fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. There is something about Pacquiao’s style of fighting that causes Bradley to suffer leg injuries.

Pacquiao disappoints the fans by selecting Bradley

1-Pacquiao_Mayweather_150429_008aBy Allan Fox: Manny Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KOs) disappointed legions of boxing fans this week with his selection of Tim Bradley (33-1-1, 13 KOs) for his final fight of his career on 4/9. The fans were expecting more from the 37-year-old Pacquiao, especially after the disappointment of his last fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the “Fight of the Century” last May in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The fans felt ripped off at the high prices in how the fighters’ promoters hiked the price of the fight to unheard of heights. The fight then turned out to be a dud with neither guy doing much. Pacquiao admitted afterwards that he’d taken the fight with an injury to his shoulder.

Pacquiao personally selected Bradley for his next fight from a 3-fighter list that his promoter Bob Arum assembled for him. Two of the fighters on the list were Top Rank fighters, while the third was Amir Khan, who reportedly never had real chance at all of getting the fight.

In a highly controversial move, Pacquiao will training in the Philippines for the first four weeks, and then coming over to the United States to train at his trainer Freddie Roach’s Wildcard Gym in Los Angeles, California for the final four weeks of training.

Arum knows he has work to do

Ellerbe and ArumBy Gav Duthie: If Bob Arum were a boxer he would currently be going into the 12th and final round having lost all 11 before him looking to windmill his way to a knockout victory.

This is how it feels with the Top Rank promoter trying to justify a trilogy match between Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley. Arum has been in the game long enough to know that this will be a tough sell. He is trying to tell us that this is a different Tim Bradley but fans are not convinced.

Pacquiao explains why he selected Bradley for April 9th fight

Manny PacquiaoBy Chris Williams: Fans are still confused why Top Rank promoter Bob Arum and his No.1 money fighter Manny Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KOs) decided to pick out Tim Bradley (33-1-1, 13 KOs) for a needless rematch in what will be third time these two fighters have faced each other when they get inside the ring on April 9th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Rematches are understandable when there’s an actual reason for them, but the Pacquiao-Bradley fight seems to have been done for no other reason than a lack imagination on the part of Pacquiao and his promoters.
