By Jason Kim: While it still unclear who Manny Pacquiao will be fighting next one can get a pretty good idea of who he’ll be facing in the future by looking at who his promoter Bob Arum is interested in. Right now, Arum sees welterweight Shane Mosley as great fight for Pacquiao next rather than someone else like Juan Manuel Marquez. Arum is pretty much the decider who Pacquiao fights, and that means that Mosley will likely get the call for Pacquiao next. If Mosley gets picked, the question that you have to ask is whether Pacquiao will fight Mosley at a catch-weight below 147 or at the full weight of the welterweight division.

Arum & Koncz like the idea of Pacquiao facing Mosley next, but other team members want Marquez
By Jason Kim: There is confusion about who Manny Pacquiao should face next among his team members, according to reports. Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum likes the idea of Pacquiao facing 39-year-old Shane Mosley next. Pacquiao’s close adviser Mike Koncz also likes Mosley as Pacquiao’s next opponent. However, Alex Ariza, Pacquiao’s strength and conditioning coach, trainer Freddie Roach, like Juan Manuel Marquez as Pacquiao’s next opponent. Roach would like for Pacquiao to clear up the mess from his two prior fights with Marquez, neither of which proved to have a clear cut winner.
Arum says Mosley a real possibility to fight Pacquiao next if Mayweather doesn’t take the fight
By Dan Ambrose: 39-year-old Shane Mosley (46-6-1, 39 KO’s) could be the next opponent for Manny Pacquiao if Floyd Mayweather Jr. doesn’t step up and take the fight with Pacquiao soon. In an article at the LA Times, Bob Arum said “There’s no one in first place right now after Floyd. We have a birthday party Dec. 17 in the Philippines for Manny. If Mayweather hasn’t indicated his availability by then, Shane Mosley is a real possibility.”
Ariza calls Mosley a quitter and thinks Pacquiao will knock him out
By Chris Williams: Alex Ariza, the strength and conditioning coach for Manny Pacquiao, really likes Juan Manuel Marquez and sees him as a tough opponent for Manny Pacquiao. A fighter that Ariza doesn’t seem interested in seeing fight Pacquiao is 39-year-old Shane Mosley. In an article at philstar.com, Ariza says “Mosley? He’ll be tired after 15 minutes so what’s the point of that fight? Manny knocks him out and probably Manny won’t even train for that fight. That guy is a quitter. He quit against [Floyd] Mayweather in three rounds. What do you think he’s gonna do when Manny starts to let loose his hands five or 15 seconds after the bell rings?” I wonder why Ariza wasn’t complaining like this when Margarito was selected for Pacquiao?
Mosley would be a good option for Pacquiao if Mayweather is unavailable next year
