By Dan Ambrose: Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero saw last Saturday’s fight between former WBA/WBC junior middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (42-1-1, 30 KO’s) and Floyd Mayweather Jr. (45-0, 26 KO’s) and he came away surprised that Mayweather Jr. had spent so much time standing directly in front of Canelo in that fight. Guerrero thinks that Mayweather spotted a weakness in Canelo’s game that make him decide to stand and trade.
Guerrero also said that if Mayweather had fought him like he did Canelo the outcome would have been different between them. Mayweather beat Guerrero by a 12 round unanimous decision by the scores 117-111, 117-111 and 117-111 last May in a one-sided fight.
