By Scott Gilfoid: For all the boxing fans out there who felt that 34-year-old Erik Morales (51-7, 35 KO’s) should have been given the decision over Argentinian knockout artist Marcos Maidana (30-2, 27 KO’s) last Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, I say no way. The right fighter was given the decision. Maidana landed more punches and threw the harder shots. That’s how you win. If anything, the scores should have been lopsided in Maidana’s favor.

El Terrible judging possibly costs Morales the victory
By Mark Hepplestall: In what was billed as the biggest mismatch of 2011 Living Legend Erik Morales (51-7, 35 KO’s) lost the closest of fights to Marcos Maidana (30-2, 27 KO’s), but has every right to feel aggrieved. At the beginning of the match Morales was a 6/1 underdog to win the fight by any method and was expected to be knocked out within 4 rounds. Morales said at the press conference “am I the only one who thinks I will win?, I know what I am doing”, well Erik, a lot of people think you won that fight, this is at least a moral victory as it shows that Morales is still good enough to fight for titles.

Morales to get nice payday for Maidana fight
By Eric Thomas: Even though 34-year-old Erik Morales is likely going to get torn apart and obliterated tonight by knockout artist Marcos Maidana (29-2, 27 KO’s), Morales will be getting a nice little payday according to Dan Rafael due to the Mexican television money and pay-per-view upside.
Experts give predictions: Maidana vs. Morales tonight
By Jim Dower: Tonight knockout artist Marcos Maidana (29-2, 27 KO’s) will be facing 34-year-old Erik Morales in a battel for the WBC interim light welterweight title at the MGM Grand, in Las Vegas, Nevada. For Morales, this could be his last shot at fame. If he gets beaten up and taken out by Maidana that could be the end for Morales. He can obviously continue to fight but it’s difficult to see him finding any success at light welterweight, lightweight or any other weight classes Morale might choose to move to after taking a loss tonight.
Morales: Too old, too weak and too small to beat Maidana
By Eric Thomas: It’s kind of sad that 34-yer-old Erik Morales had to pick Marcos Maidana out as the fighter that he wanted to step up against after facing three second tier fighters during his comeback. Morales, after a great career, retired in 2007 following four consecutive defeats.

Morales says Maidana doesn’t hit too hard
What will Morales’ excuse be when Maidana destroys him?
By Dan Ambrose: If you look at some of the recent interviews by Erik Morales (51-6, 35 KO’s), he seems to have a ton of excuses for his poor performances and losses in the past. Morales’ number one excuse seems to be that he had to take off too much weight for some of his especially bad performances.
