Amir Khan: Sky’s the limit or limit’s the sky?

khan5342345By Brinsley Bailey: Call it destiny, good fortune or divine intervention but Amir Khan’s first round knockout loss to Breidis Prescott in September 2008 propelled Khan on the road toward boxing greatness. After his first loss, the British press and many boxing fans were quick to attack the “limited” Khan for his poor defence and tactics. This brutal and perhaps well needed criticism, forced Khan to question his attitude and approach to boxing.

Will Khan ever Be an Elite Fighter?

khan63567By Jason Kim: When I say elite, I mean in the class of super star like Floyd Mayweather Jr., Manny Pacquiao, and Juan Manuel Marquez and to a lesser degree Ricky Hatton. Khan, 22, mentioned recently that he’d like to be at the level of Marquez and Mayweather in a year’s time from now, and that’s really admirable that Khan wants to get to that level, but is it really possible or is this just wishful thinking on Khan’s part.

These are the people that boo Khan when he makes his entrance to the ring, these are the people who boo him again when he wins, these are the people that spend an extraordinary amount of time on boxing forums just to mock him, but most astonishingly, these are the people who cheered him in Athens and made him a national hero at 17. Amir Khan: Can He Hold onto His Title for Long?

khan438By Scott Gilfoid: WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (21-1, 15 KO’s) is a special kind of fighter. He punches with blazing speed, and moves around the ring better than most light welterweights in the division. To see him throw punches, you’d think that he’s unbeatable. The problem is Khan has a chin like glass and has been knocked down again and again during his four year pro career by even light punchers.
