Froch should give Dirrell a rematch instead of Kessler

dirrell33By Scott Gilfoid: IBF super middleweight champion Carl Froch (30-2, 22 KO’s) is really interested in facing WBA super middleweight champion Mikklel Kessler again to try and avenge his defeat from two years ago in the Super Six tournament, but that’s not the guy that Froch should be fighting a rematch with. If anyone that Froch should be looking to fight again, it should be Andre Dirrell (20-1, 14 KO’s) because Froch’s win over him in 2009 is one of the most controversial fights that you’ll ever see in your life.

For those who watched last Saturday’s horrendous decision in the Tomasz Adamek – Steve Cunningham 2 fight, that fight result is nothing compared to Froch’s controversial decision over Dirrell. What made Froch’s win over Dirrell so especially bad was that not only did Dirrell get jobbed in a fight that he arguably should have won 10 rounds to 2, but Froch was able to beat Dirrell while getting away with tons of fouling in that fight without getting penalized for it by the referee. We all know what happened in that fight.

Image: Hopkins: Froch should fight Andre Dirrell!By Scott Gilfoid: 47-year-old WBC light heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins sees a potential fight between IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute and Carl Froch as being a bad one for boxing fans given how badly Froch was whipped by Hopkins clone WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward last month in the Super Six finals.

Andre Dirrell: Tell Froch to come to America; I’m not going to Nottingham again

Image: Andre Dirrell: Tell Froch to come to America; I'm not going to Nottingham againBy Scott Gilfoid: If former WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (28-2, 20 KO’s) doesn’t decide on signing a two fight contract with IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute (29-0, 4 KO’s) for fights in April and August this year, then Froch might want to look at facing Andre Dirrell (20-1, 14 KOs) again because Dirrell is very interested in avenging his highly controversial 12 round split decision loss from 2009.

Why Carl Froch is in a league above Dirrell

Image: Why Carl Froch is in a league above DirrellBy Joe Met: There is a lot of debate surrounding the fighters who have been involved in the Super Six Tournament this last year or so, and non more so than Carl Froch, and Andre Dirrell. If the tournament were scored on column inches alone , one of these two fighters would have won it already.

Froch: “I was hoping that Abraham was going to knock him [Dirrell] out, and that’s what happened” – News

Image: Froch: “I was hoping that Abraham was going to knock him [Dirrell] out, and that’s what happened” - NewsBy Scott Gilfoid: It seems that World Boxing Council super middleweight champion Carl Froch (26-0, 20 KO’s) still has some bruised feelings about his controversial 12 round split decision win over the talented Andre Dirrell (19-1, 13 KO’s) from their Super Six stage 1 bout last October. In an article at Boxing Fanhouse, Froch says “I was hoping that Abraham was going to knock him out, and that’s what happened, even though Dirrell did get the decision.” Gosh, Froch seems to really be holding a grudge against Dirrell because of his impressive performance against Froch. You can’t blame a fighter for giving it his all, coming into a foreign country, staggering the champion and trying his hardest to get a win, can you?

Time to change the record – Froch ‘BEAT’ Dirrell

froch4534By Liam Santiago: I am sick and tired of hearing people saying Andre Dirrell beat Carl Froch. It is really starting to boil my kettle. Recently Dirrell’s trainer or advisor or whatever has claimed Froch was beaten. Amir Khan has also stated his thoughts on a ‘hometown decision’. Bo**ocks! Froch beat him clearly. On my card is was by two rounds. Dirrell came on strong in the late rounds, but that is not enough.

Boxing – Froch might do well to read this

froch544532455By Joseph Aaron Forbes: Boxing is an interesting sport with many philosophies; to begin I will use the recent fight between Froch and Dirrell to illustrate.

I found this fight very interesting not to mention the decision but that’s for another time.

Here you had a champion in Froch that was completely out of his comfort zone. The reasons for this could be debated but I would like to offer my opinion on the subject.
