Image: Dirrell will outbox AbrahamBy Scott Gilfoid: On March 6th, super middleweight contender Andre Dirrell (18-1, 13 KO’s) will be fighting unbeaten Arthur Abraham (31-0, 25 KO’s) in the second fight of Showtime’s Super Six tournament at the Agua Caliente Casino, in Rancho Mirage, California. As many people already know, the talented 26-year-old Dirrell lost his first fight of the Super Six tournament in a highly controversial 12 round split decision loss to World Boxing Council super middleweight champion Carl Froch on October 17th, in Froch’s home city of Nottingham, England.

Dirrell vs. Abraham postponed?

dirrell6544By Scott Gilfoid: According to an article from the news site Mlive, the Super Six tournament bout between talented American Andre Dirrell (18-1, 13 KO’s) and German based Arthur Abraham has been postponed due to Abraham suffering a bad case of the flu, causing the fight to be put off until March 7th. If this turns out to be the case, it will be disappointing news for fans of Dirrell and Abraham.

Other than Dirrell, who can beat Ward in the Super Six?

ward345By Scott Gilfoid: Andre Ward’s impeccable 11th round technical decision over the Super Six number #1 seed Mikkel Kessler appears to have taken a lot of the air out of the sails of boxing fans of Arthur Abraham, Kessler and Carl Froch. Ward’s win over Kessler was so one-sided that you barely hear a peep out of some of the excitable European fans. You’re also not hearing to much from Jermain Taylor fans either, although it’s not surprising given viciousness of his 12th round stoppage loss to Abraham in their Super Six tournament fight on October 17th.
