By Dennis Broadhurst: Eddie Chambers (35-1 18kos) is 6ft 1 inch and only 209lbs in weight. In the old days you had fighters who were well under 200lbs fighting at heavyweight and becoming champions because there was no cruiserweight division but looking at Eddie Chambers, and his soft waistline, I ask myself “Why not put in the work to be a great cruiserweight?” Chambers has had some success at heavyweight but has already been defeated (Povetkin), he has above average hand speed, decent power and a decent chin.

Klitschko-Chambers: Wladimir badly needs an impressive knockout win
By Chris Williams: I see this fight as a one-sided bout with IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (53-3, 47 KO’s) dominating with his jab. American Eddie Chambers (35-1, 18 KO’s) is coming into this fight the much smaller fighter compared to the 6’6” Klitschko, and doesn’t have the power to make Wladimir respect him. Without power to keep Wladimir from holding back on his power shots, Chambers will be a sitting duck in the early going of the fight. Chambers will not want to trade after getting hit with some of Wladimir]s big shots in the first few rounds.
Prediction: Chambers by 5th round knockout over Klitschko
By Dave Lahr: If Wladimir Klitschko had a chin, he’d something special. He just doesn’t have the chin to be a great one I hate to say. Eddie Chambers is stepping into tonight’s fight with Klitschko as a huge underdog. Few people think that the small 6’1” 209 pound Chambers will win.
I’ve seen both fighters compete on a number of different occasions and know what they’re both capable of doing in the right, and I see the quickness of Chambers being the decisive factor in this fight. Klitschko is all arms and legs, a clumsy heavyweight for the most part.
Klitschko vs. Chambers: Look for Wladimir to crush “Fast” Eddie
By Jim Dower: The fight between Eddie Chambers (35-1, 18 KO’s) and IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (53-3, 47 KO’s) is only hours away.
Chambers, 27, will be taking a big step up in trying to capture Klitschko’s titles when he enters the ring at the ESPRIT arena, in Düsseldorf, Germany. There is expected to be 51,000 people in attendance tonight, which will be by far the biggest crowd that Chambers has ever fought in front of during his 10-yearr pro career.
Haye doesn’t want to fight the Klitschko brothers in front of “boring Germans”
By Scott Gilfoid: World Boxing Association heavyweight champion David Haye (23-1, 21 KO’s) is doing what he always does when the Klitschko brothers are about to fight, he’s nailing them with criticism. In this case, Haye has come out of the woodwork all of a sudden to question IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko, who is fighting tomorrow night in Dusseldorf, Germany, against Eddie Chambers. In an article at the Guardian, Haye says “I’d like to fight them [the Klitschko brothers] in the UK, because everyone knows the German boxing atmosphere is crap. It’s just dull. I’d hate to have one of my defining fights in front of a bunch of boring Germans.”
Klitschko-Chambers: Steward predicts 8th round knockout – News
By Jim Dower: Emanuel Steward, the trainer of International Boxing Federation/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (53-3, 47 KO’s), is predicting an 8th round knockout win for Wladimir over challenger Eddie Chambers (35-1, 18 KO’s) on Saturday night in Dusseldorf, Germany. In an article at Yahoo Sports, Steward says “Chambers is the best he’s ever fought, but Wladimir is in the form of his life and he’ll win by KO by round 8 at the latest.”
Wladimir Klitschko: “I just hope he [Haye] doesn’t get hit on his glass chin” by Ruiz
By Scott Gilfoid: IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (53-3, 47 KO’s) had a lot to say about World Boxing Association heavyweight champion David Haye recently, saying in an article at the Daily Star, “Haye b*tched out from Vitali. I just hope that Haye doesn’t get hit on his glass chin [in his fight with John Ruiz on April 3rd]. As much as I don’t like him [Haye], I don’t want him beaten by Ruiz before I get there.” Klitschko, 33, has bad blood with Haye because of all the trash talking that Haye did when the two were leading up to their failed fight last year.
Klitschko ready for Chambers on Saturday night
By Jason Kim: IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (53-3, 47 KO’s) states he’s ready for challenger Eddie Chambers (35-1, 18 KO’s) when the two meet in a heavyweight clash in Dusseldorf, Germany. There is expected to be a sellout crowd of 51,000 to see Klitschko defend his title against the 27-year-old Chambers. Klitschko hasn’t had any competitive fights since capturing the IBF heavyweight title in 2006 with a knockout win over Chris Byrd.
Samuel Peter has to wait for Povetkin-Klitschko before he gets his shot
By Jim Dower: With his 2nd round knockout win over Nagy Aguilera in the International Boxing Federation heavyweight title eliminator bout on March 12th, the 29-year-old Peter has assured himself a fight against IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (53-3, 47 KO’s) in the future. The only thing that Peter has to do now is wait for Klitschko to get finished with his fight this Saturday night against American challenger Eddie Chambers, and then after that Klitschko has one more fight, a bout against Alexander Povetkin, the International Boxing Federation mandatory challenger who has been waiting two long years to get a shot against Wladimir.
Klitschko rates Chambers as a “much better boxer than David Haye”
By Dan Ambrose: Paying a big compliment to his American challenger Eddie Chambers (35-1, 18 KO’s), IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (53-3, 47 KO’s) said to ESPN, “I believe that Eddie Chambers is a much better fighter than David Haye. Haye is ridiculous. He bailed from my fight, from a fight with Vitali. He actually admitted he was going to fight Valuev because it’s an easier fight for him. So he [Haye] fought Valuev in a very boring way for 12 rounds. And – excuse me – Valuev is just a freak show.”
