Tyson “The Gypsy King” Fury, a British boxing giant standing tall at 6’9″ and tipping the scales at 278 lbs, has been ruling the heavyweight division with his iron fists since 2020. Not just a family man with a bunch of kids and a love story that dates back to 2008 with Paris, but Fury also boasts a record that reads like a warrior’s epic—especially his trilogy with Deontay Wilder (2-0-1, with 2 KOs) and a hat trick against Derek Chisora. Before claiming the WBC crown, he unified the heavyweight titles way back in 2015, only to take a brief hiatus from the throne. With a squad of fighting siblings by his side, Fury’s not just throwing punches; he’s crafting a legacy that’s as large as his frame. Tyson Fury’s net worth is estimated to be around £50million, according to Forbes magazine.
A press conference was held this past Tuesday at the ESPRIT Arena to formally announce the highly anticipated World Heavyweight Championship between undisputed and long reigning champion Wladimir “Dr. Steelhammer” Klitschko and #1 ranked mandatory challenger Tyson Fury set for Saturday, October 24. The event will be televised in the U.S. live on HBO World Championship Boxing beginning at 5:00 p.m. ET/PT.
By Scott Gilfoid: Undefeated British heavyweight Anthony Joshua thinks that fellow British heavyweight Tyson Fury (24-0, 18 KOs) has a very good chance of beating IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs) in their fight on October 24th if the 6’9” Fury can get the older 39-year-old Wladimir to brawl with him rather than boxing him from the outside.
It’s unclear why the 25-year-old Joshua believes that Wladimir would potentially abandon his normal fighting style that he’s been using consistently for the past 10 years to fight an emotional fighter like Fury.
By Scott Gilfoid: Tyson Fury (24-0, 18 KOs) seems to have some grandiose thoughts about what will happen if he beats IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs) in their fight on October 24th at the ESPRIT Arena in Dusseldorf, Germany.
Fury believes that he’ll become the biggest thing in the sport if he beats the aging 39-year-old Klitschko. Just why Fury has those grandiose thoughts is anyone’s guess. I’m not sure if Fury has been keeping up with things, but if he looked around, he would have discovered by now that Wladimir isn’t a popular heavyweight outside of Germany and Ukraine.
By Scott Gilfoid: After giving IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs) a verbal thrashing earlier today in front of the German media, unbeaten British heavyweight Tyson Fury (24-0, 18 KOs) said that the 39-year-old Wladimir, who sees as a graying, wrinkled old man, is going to hate him after he loses.
Fury says he knows it’s going to be like this. However, if Fury keeps making Wladimir look bad like he did today during the kickoff press conference in Germany, Wladimir might hate him even before they get inside the ring.
By Scott Gilfoid: In a sign that IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs) believes that he’ll be able to stay on top of the sport for at least another two more years, he’s reportedly signed a 5-fight contract with RTL, a German TV company, to have his next 5-fights televised with them.
It’s a risky gamble on RTL’s part, because the 39-year-old Wladimir could very well fall apart in his very next fight against Britain’s Tyson Fury (24-0, 18 KOs) in their fight on October 24th at the ESPRIT Arena in Dusseldorf, Germany. To be sure, if Wladimir loses the fight with the 26-year-old Fury, he’ll be getting a rematch against him.
By Scott Gilfoid: The light hitting #1 WBO Tyson Fury (24-0, 18 KOs) was in a real trash talking mood tonight at his press conference with IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs) to get ready for their fight three months from now on October 24th in Dusseldorf, Germany.
By Erhan Bora: Anyone who is familiar with Tyson Fury’s (24-0, 18 KOs) social media knows to take what he says with a pinch of salt. Although he claims to be a man of his word in most of his interviews and has tweeted that he will quit the boxing game if he fails to overcome IBF, WBO, WBA world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs). Tyson has many critics within the sport, even some of the most popular YouTubers frequently criticize him, and has many doubters among the fans. What chance does Tyson Fury have in beating the favorite who himself is aiming to beat Joe Louis’ title defense record.
In reviewing his track record, Fury has yet to face a real top contender although the same could be said for Wladimir. In his lost track record he has arguably fought the best around but the division had been going through an awful dry spell, and the only real good heavyweight I picked out was Alexander Povetkin, who Wladimir dealt with in some style.
By Scott Gilfoid: Former light heavyweight world champion Antonio Tarver is giving #1 WBO contender Tyson Fury (24-0, 18 KOs) absolutely no chance at all of beating IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight world champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs) in their fight on October 24th at the ESPRIT arena, Düsseldorf, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. Tarver notes that Klitschko isn’t the same fighter that he once was, but he still sees him as way too good for the likes of Tyson Fury.
It’s hard to disagree with Tarver about Klitschko being too good, because even though he’s starting to look like a shot fighter at 39, he can still pack a big punch and move really well around the ring. There’s nothing wrong with Wladimir’s punching power, his excellent jab and his mobility.
By Scott Gilfoid: If there’s going to be a knockout in the October 24th clash between the giant heavyweights IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs) and Tyson Fury (24-0, 18 KOs), it’s assumed that it’ll be Wladimir doing the knockout when these guys start dropping bombs on each other three months from now at the Esprit Arena in Dusseldorf, Germany.
Wladimir is the much bigger puncher with either hand, and the guy with the faster hand speed, even now at 39-years-old. But interestingly enough, Fury’s trainer Peter Fury believes that it’s going to be his fighter Tyson Fury who will be the one scoring the knockout in this fight.
By Scott Gilfoid: IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs) sees Britain’s Tyson Fury (24-0, 18 KOs) as being a big mouth like former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye, who Wladimir defeated with ease four years ago in 2011.
Haye talked a good game before the fight, but then he failed to produce in the ring on the night of the fight, Haye ended up running for 12 rounds in losing a 12 round decision. Like Haye, Wladimir figures Fury to be more of a talker than an actual fighter.
