Tyson Fury is Only One Reason I can’t Be Patriotic Come Fight Night!

fury111By Rob Blakeman: I’ll be honest from the start; The Klitschko brothers are not my cup of tea boxing wise. Their upright, slightly mechanical style has made for some boring fights over the years but I have been won over into respecting them both for how they developed their careers respectively.

I, along with many other boxing fans first had my doubts about Vitali’s bottle after he quit on his stool against Chris Byrd way back in 2000. Then in 2003 brother Vladimir was exposed as amateurish and ‘chinny’ by the late, great Corrie Sanders when he was knocked out in two rounds. Both of these giant brothers then, despite showing some talent for boxing, clearly had ‘feet of clay’ or so it appeared.

Wladimir Klitschko vs Tyson Fury preview and analysis

wladimir4By Harry Rowland: Wilmslow’s Tyson Fury (27) has earned himself a shot at reigning world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (39), in Düsseldorf’s ESPIRIT arena on October 24th, having beaten Finchley’s Derrick Chisora in a WBO title eliminator last November.

Not many people outside of the Fury camp are tipping the Gypsy Warrior to upset the 7/2 against odds, and put an end to the WBA, WBO, IBF, IBO and The Ring champions’ nine and a half year reign, as the owner of the richest prize in sport.

The Ukrainian born, German based Dr Steal Hammer has now made 18 consecutive defences of his WBO championship he won from Chris Byrd in 2006. A record that is third only to Joe Louis’ 25 and Larry Holmes’ 20 in heavyweight history.

Can anyone dethrone King Klitschko?

wladimir200
By Luke Clarke: Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs) has proved himself to be named amongst the greatest heavyweights of all time. As one of the longest reigning heavyweight world champions in history (second only to Joe Louis), his legacy will surely be cemented in the boxing hall of fame. This era will be remembered as the Klitschko era.

Although not everyone likes Wladimir’s boxing style, few can deny it has been effective over the last 10 years, and nobody has come close to beating him since winning the world title in 2006.

Wladimir Klitschko will beat Tyson Fury, says Anthony Joshua

fury111By Scott Gilfoid: Well, it doesn’t look like No.1 WBO Tyson Fury (24-0, 18 KOs) will be beating 39-year-old IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs) in their fight on October 24th at the ESPRIT Arena in Dussedorf, Germany.

British heavyweight Anthony Joshua is writing off the 6’9” Fury as not having the experience and just plain not being good enough to get the job done when he gets inside the ring with the 6’6” Klitschko. Fury, 26, is a lot younger than Wladimir, but his youth and inability to punch appears to be too much of a handicap for him to win this fight.

Joshua gives Tyson Fury 40% chance of beating Wladimir Klitschko

wladimir4By Scott Gilfoid: Undefeated British heavyweight Anthony Joshua thinks that fellow British heavyweight Tyson Fury (24-0, 18 KOs) has a very good chance of beating IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs) in their fight on October 24th if the 6’9” Fury can get the older 39-year-old Wladimir to brawl with him rather than boxing him from the outside.

It’s unclear why the 25-year-old Joshua believes that Wladimir would potentially abandon his normal fighting style that he’s been using consistently for the past 10 years to fight an emotional fighter like Fury.

Tyson Fury: If I beat Wladimir, I’ll be the biggest thing in boxing

fury111By Scott Gilfoid: Tyson Fury (24-0, 18 KOs) seems to have some grandiose thoughts about what will happen if he beats IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs) in their fight on October 24th at the ESPRIT Arena in Dusseldorf, Germany.

Fury believes that he’ll become the biggest thing in the sport if he beats the aging 39-year-old Klitschko. Just why Fury has those grandiose thoughts is anyone’s guess. I’m not sure if Fury has been keeping up with things, but if he looked around, he would have discovered by now that Wladimir isn’t a popular heavyweight outside of Germany and Ukraine.

Fury: Wladimir is going to hate me after the fight

fury56789By Scott Gilfoid: After giving IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs) a verbal thrashing earlier today in front of the German media, unbeaten British heavyweight Tyson Fury (24-0, 18 KOs) said that the 39-year-old Wladimir, who sees as a graying, wrinkled old man, is going to hate him after he loses.

Fury says he knows it’s going to be like this. However, if Fury keeps making Wladimir look bad like he did today during the kickoff press conference in Germany, Wladimir might hate him even before they get inside the ring.

Wladimir Klitschko signs 5-fight extension with RTL German TV

wladimirBy Scott Gilfoid: In a sign that IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs) believes that he’ll be able to stay on top of the sport for at least another two more years, he’s reportedly signed a 5-fight contract with RTL, a German TV company, to have his next 5-fights televised with them.

It’s a risky gamble on RTL’s part, because the 39-year-old Wladimir could very well fall apart in his very next fight against Britain’s Tyson Fury (24-0, 18 KOs) in their fight on October 24th at the ESPRIT Arena in Dusseldorf, Germany. To be sure, if Wladimir loses the fight with the 26-year-old Fury, he’ll be getting a rematch against him.
