Alvarez vs. Hatton: Matthew to fight a slugger in the U.S

Image: Alvarez vs. Hatton: Matthew to fight a slugger in the U.SBy Sean McDaniel: EBU welterweight champion Matthew Hatton (41-4-1, 16 KO’s) is taking a big risk in traveling to the United States and facing unbeaten knockout puncher Saul Alvarez (35-0-1, 26 KO’s) on March 5th at the Honda Center, in Anaheim, California. Hatton, 29, is the younger, bigger brother of former two division world champion Ricky Hatton. The problem for Matthew is that he has none of the power that his older brother Ricky had while fighting.

Alvarez-Hatton: How many rounds will Matthew last before getting brutally knocked out?

Image: Alvarez-Hatton: How many rounds will Matthew last before getting brutally knocked out?By Scott Gilfoid:: The WBA has for some reason given EBU welterweight champion Matthew Hatton (41-4-2, 16 KO’s) a ranking of number #6 in the welterweight rankings. This gives the number #4 ranked Saul Alvarez (35-0-1, 26 KO’s) an excuse to fight Hatton and, of course, destroy him on March 5th at the Honda Center, in Anaheim, California. This is going to be one of the worse slaughters in memory.

Alvarez vs. Hatton: Anyone care to see a mismatch?

By William Mackay: On March 5th, EBU welterweight champion Matthew Hatton (41-4-2, 16 KO’s) will likely suffer a brutal beating against WBC Silver light middleweight champion Saul Alvarez (35-0-1, 26 KO’s) in their fight at the Honda Center, in Anaheim, California. Hatton, 29, could have opted to take a much easier fight for the World Boxing Association welterweight paper champion Vyasheslav Senchenko, but instead opted to take the more dangerous fight with the much bigger payoff against the much respected but inexperienced Alvarez.

Matthew Hatton – Saul Alvarez for March 5th

By Jim Dower: An interesting fight that’s being talked about is the proposed battle between unbeaten 20-year-old Saul Avarez (35-0-1, 26 KO’s) and EBU welterweight champion Matthew Hatton (41-4-2, 16 KO’s) for March 5th. I would be really surprised if Hatton Promotions goes ahead and puts Matthew in this fight, because he doesn’t appear to have the artillery needed to win this fight.

Why doesn’t Saul Alvarez fight Erislandy Lara

Image: Why doesn’t Saul Alvarez fight Erislandy LaraBy Dan Ambrose: Unbeaten highly ranked welterweight/junior middleweight Saul Alvarez (35-0-1, 26 KO’s) is looking to fight the terribly flawed and mediocre Matthew Hatton on March 5th in what will likely be an easy fight for Alvarez. What I what to know is why doesn’t Alvarez take on a much better fighter than Hatton like unbeaten former Cuban amateur star Erislandy Lara (15-0, 10 KO’s) instead?

Matthew Hatton hoping to fight Senchenko for WBA title, Alvarez and Witter are also options

By Sean McDaniel: European Boxing Union (EBU) welterweight champion Matthew Hatton (41-4-2, 16 KO’s) is hoping to challenge WBA welterweight champion Vyacheslav Senchenko (31-0, 20 KO’s) in his next fight. Fighting for a world title has been a dream for Hatton, the brother of former two division world champion Ricky Hatton, all his life. However, fighting and beating Senchenko won’t give Hatton much respect or credibility among boxing fans, because Senchenko is considered one of the two paper champions in the welterweight division.
