By Dave Lahr: In the latest boxing news, Manny Pacquiao apparently plans on ending his career after only three more fights. It looks as if Pacquiao, 30, has designs on a political career in the Philippines once he gets out of the sport. There’s no word about what Pacquiao might do if he fails at winning office as politician. Pacquiao will be fighting Miguel Cotto for the WBO welterweight title on November 14th.

Should Hatton face the loser of Cotto vs. Pacquiao?
By Liam Santiago: As a boxing expert, I am happy. Ricky Hatton has announced he will fight again and he will be aiming for the pound for pound title. The big question every boxing fan is asking is who is he going to fight? Of course, he is coming of a lethal knock out defeat, which was mainly down to his preparation and a certain Poet. Why not go after the loser of Pacquiao vs Cotto? Both will be coming of a defeat and both will be big money spinners.
Cotto vs. Pacquiao – This decade’s Trinidad vs. De La Hoya
By Will Cruz: On September 18, 1999, The hottest fighters in the game, Felix Trinidad and Oscar De La Hoya, stepped into the ring for what was supposed to be the mega fight of the decade. That was the fight that had all the elements to go down as one of the most exciting fights in history. Both fighters were in their prime, both fighters had two whole countries behind them, and both fighters had the opportunity to solidify their P4P greatness. Most people, myself included, would agree that the fight having such high expectations, was a disappointment.
Cotto-Pacquiao: The Difference Between the Great and the Brave
By Gary Brownlie: I have read so many articles recently slating the proclaimed pound for pound king of boxing Manny Pacquiao. The bottom line to this is that Pacquiao has moved up and down various weight divisions fighting the champions of each division, excluding De La Hoya and Cotto.
Roach to Try to Keep Pacquiao from Taking Punishment from Cotto
By Manuel Perez: Manny Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach gave a hint about the strategy that they will be using against WBO welterweight champion Miguel Cotto when Roach said that he’s “Training Manny to not get hit,” in an interview at Doghouse boxing yesterday. So, it seems that Pacquiao will be using a bit of the old in and out fighting strategy against Cotto on November 14th.
Cotto – Not if, but when…
By Will Cruz: On November 14, Miguel Cotto will state his case as the best pound for pound fighter in the world. Many writers, fans, and so called “experts” have overlooked Miguel Cotto almost as fast as this fight was put together, and continue to dream about a mega fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather.
Cotto’s WBO title Will Be On the Line Against Pacquiao
By Manuel Perez: Well, it looks as if WBO welterweight champion Miguel Cotto will be forced now to have his World Boxing Organization title on the line regardless of whether he likes it or not against Manny Pacquiao. All I can say is It figures. The WBO is forcing Cotto’s hand by saying that Cotto has to put the title on the line if the fight is go take place between the weights of 141-147. Since Cotto agreed to fight Pacquiao at a 145 pound catch weight, Cotto will be prevented from coming in at the full 147 pounds for the bout.
Pacquiao/Cotto: Catch Weight cannot Invalidate WBO Title Match
By Giancarlo Malinconico: Pacquiao’s attempt at becoming a seven-division champion has come at odds with Cotto’s demand that if the title is on the line, the catch-weight agreement must be invalidated. The catch weight, nevertheless, was an agreement between Cotto and Pacquiao that does not directly concern the WBO.
What Happens to Pacquiao If He Can’t Stop Cotto?
By Manuel Perez: Manny Pacquiao (49-3-2. 37 KO’s) better hope that he can stop Miguel Cotto (34-1, 27 KO’s) as early as possible in this fight, because once Cotto gets his train started, Pacquiao is going to be in for a world of hurt on November 14th at the MGM Grand, in Las Vegas, Nevada. What we’re looking at here is a fighter that has had it easy in his last seven fights (with the exception of Pacquiao’s fight against Juan Manuel Marquez), defeating most of his opponents early on without having to take very much punishment in the process.
