Katsidis wants title shot against Vazquez
By Dan Ambrose: The struggling Michael Katsidis (27-4, 22 KO’s) is reportedly interested in taking on IBF lightweight champion Miguel Vazquez (28-3, 12 KO’s) next in a fight that Katsidis is hoping will take place in his native Australia. It’s not exactly a good match-up for the pressure fighter Katsidis, as Vazquez is a pure boxer and likes to move a lot and make his opponents miss with his shots.
Katsidis back in action in July or August in Australia
By Jason Kim: Having now lost his last two fights to Robert Guerrero and Juan Manuel Marquez, lightweight contender Michael Katsidis (27-4, 22 KO’s) plans on making his next fight in Australia in July or August against a still to be determined opponent. Katsidis, 30, could have fought on a July 30th pay-per-view card but passed on that to take a much lower visibility fight in his native Australia for some reason.
The Gatekeeper should hold the key to the title
By Darren Munsey: One of the biggest talking points in boxing is the question ‘’is this boxer world class’’? We discuss, we debate but at the end of the day we do not know for sure until the fighter participates in a world title fight. The problem with that is just because a boxer fights for a world title that is far from conclusive evidence that the prospect is truly world class. With the amount of different versions or world title and the massive influence promoters have in the sport getting a world title shot is easier than ever.
Is there a modern day Arturo Gatti?
By Darren Munsey: The late great Arturo ‘’Thunder’’ Gatti (40-9-0) captured our hearts with his hell for leather fighting style. He was far from the most gifted boxer we have even seen but no one can deny he had the heart of a lion and was involved on several classic toe to toe brawls we will never forget.

Robert Guerrero defeats Katsidis, now wants Mayweather, Marquez, Maidana or Judah
By Dan Ambrose: Robert Guerrero (29-1-1, 18 KO’s) defeated Australian Michael Katsidis (27-4, 22 KO’s) by a lopsided 12 round unanimous decision on Saturday night at the MGM Grand, in Las Vegas, Nevada to capture the WBA and WBO interim lightweight titles. Guerrero stood and traded with the hard hitting Katsidis for 12 rounds, taking his best shots and firing back hard punches of his own. In the end, Guerrero’s work rate and sharp punching was the difference in the fight.

By Sean McDaniel: Lightweight Kevin Mitchell (31-1, 23 KO’s) is still hoping to fight EBU lightweight champion John Murray (30-0, 18 KO’s) in April, as long as Mitchell can get the big enough offer from his promoter Frank Warren to take the fight. Mitchell doesn’t want to get small money for the fight. However, he’s not helped that he hasn’t fought since May when he was stopped in the 3rd round by Michael Katsidis.
