By Eric Thomas: If you’re up for seeing a replay of last Saturday night’s fight between Erik Morales and Marcos Maidana, as well as Michael Katsidis vs. Robert Guerrero, then you’re in luck. The fights will reportedly be shown by HBO Zone channel on Saturday night for fans that might want to see the fights again or see them for the first time if they happened to have missed the PPV bout last weekend.

Maidana had to work hard to earn a 12 round majority decision in a back and forth fight, whereas Guerrero dominated Katsidis by a 12 round decision in their exciting fights. Both bouts were very interesting fights to watch, and the Maidana vs. Morales fight could wind up as the fight of the year. Maidana applied pressure all fight long against Morales, dominating the first five rounds.

Morales came on from the 6th until the 10th, winning most of those rounds. With Morales’ right eye completely closed limiting his vision, Maidana came on in the 11th and 12th and sealed the victory by landing a lot of hard shots to the head and body of Morales. There were many boxing fans who were undecided about who the winner of the fight should be with many thinking it should have been a draw. The two fighters could meet in a possible rematch later in the year unless they get better offers.

Maidana captured the WBA light welterweight interim title and is now poised to go after the full title once Khan vacates the title or if he gets beaten by Paul McCloskey on Saturday or by Timothy Bradley in the summer.
