Kiko Martinez vs. Carl Frampton in Belfast on February 9th

frampton22By Scott Gilfoid: Unbeaten Carl “The Jackal” Frampton (15-0, 10 KO’s) will be taking a big step up in class on February 9th against EBU super bantamweight champion Kiko Martinez (27-3, 19 KO’s) at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland. For the 25-year-old Frampton this presents a really stiff challenge for him because he’s been matched against less than spectacular opposition since he turned pro in 2009.

Earlier this year, Frampton struggled to beat Raul Hirales by a 12 round unanimous decision in May. Frampton briefly attempted to slug it out with the hard hitting Hirales, but as soon as he found out that he was in with a harder hitter, Frampton played it safe and fought in a dull defensive manner for the remainder of the fight.

Carl “The Jackal” Frampton v kiko Martinez 9th February

frampton4545By Chris Bax  Unbeaten Carl Frampton’s long awaited fight with EBU super bantamweight champion Kiko Martinez (27-3, 19 KO’s) is going ahead on a bill called “Unfinished business” on February the 9th, featuring a decent undercard this should be a cracking fight and really good show at the Odyssey Arena, in Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom.

In his last outing, Frampton (15-0, 10 KO’s) blew away former 2 time world champion Steve Molitor in 6 rounds and follows that performance on with another very tough fight for “the jackal”. Now promoted by namesake Sergio, Kiko Martinez, the European champion beaten 3 times in 30 bouts, will provide a very stern test for Frampton but a test I expect him to pass with flying colours.
