frampton4545By Chris Bax  Unbeaten Carl Frampton’s long awaited fight with EBU super bantamweight champion Kiko Martinez (27-3, 19 KO’s) is going ahead on a bill called “Unfinished business” on February the 9th, featuring a decent undercard this should be a cracking fight and really good show at the Odyssey Arena, in Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom.

In his last outing, Frampton (15-0, 10 KO’s) blew away former 2 time world champion Steve Molitor in 6 rounds and follows that performance on with another very tough fight for “the jackal”. Now promoted by namesake Sergio, Kiko Martinez, the European champion beaten 3 times in 30 bouts, will provide a very stern test for Frampton but a test I expect him to pass with flying colours.

Martinez comes to fight and has decent power with 19 stoppages from 27 wins and will try to put it on Frampton early, but I expect the Irishman to come on strong and stop Martinez in the middle rounds.

Frampton is really being pushed hard up to world class level now in search for world honours in 2013. If he comes through this bout, which in sure he will, a fight with talented Britain Scott quigg could be set up for early to mid 2013 with the winner going in too fight for a world title.

Also on the bill “Unfinished Business” Martin Lindsey challenges Lee Selby for the British and commonwealth featherweight title and Andy Lee returns to box Anthony Fitzgerald.
