By Jason Kim: Former IBF welterweight champion Kermit Cintron (30-2-1, 27 KOs) finds himself going up against one of the best young fighters in the light middleweight division on Saturday night against the undefeated Alfredo Angulo (15-0, 12 KOs) at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, in Hollywood, Florida.

Cintron vs. Angulo Failing to Interest Boxing Fans
By Dave Lahr: The Kermit Cintron vs. Alfredo Angulo fight is only three days away, but the fight seems to be barely mentioned on the various boxing sites on the net for some reason. I’m wondering why the lack of interest in this fight. I mean you’ve got two excellent knockout punchers with incredible both of them and poor defenses to block shots. Cintron, 29, is kind of in a do or die situation with his career at this point.
Can Cintron Beat Angulo?
By Jason Kim: As much as I like former International Boxing Federation welterweight champion Kermit Cintron (30-2-1, 27 KOs), I think he’s wasting his time at light middleweight. All the advantages that Cintron had over his opponents at welterweight seem to have melted away now that he’s made the ill-guided move to move up in weight to see if he can win a title at light middleweight.
The Cintron – Angulo fight
By Sam Gregory: On May 30th at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida former welterweight contender Kermit Cintron will make yet another attempt to set himself a place back in the rankings by taking on undefeated Jr middleweight challenger Alfredo Angulo.
Cintron-Angulo: It’s Do or Die for Kermit
By Pablo Solano: Kermit Cintron has been disappointing as of late. Not because he lost to twice to Sergio Margarito but because he lost TWICE to Martinez on the same night. He lost via KO and Decision. In that fight he was knockdown to what he claimed was head was a headbutt.
Chisora vs. Williams Cancelled; Cintron-Angulo, Berto-Urango on May 30th
By Jim Dower: The bout between British heavyweights Danny Williams (41-7, 31 KOs) and Derek Chisora (9-0, 5 KOs) that was previously slated for June 27th at the O2 Arena dropped off today after the 35-year-old Williams reportedly wanted twice as much money as he originally agreed upon according to Frankwarren.tv.
Berto vs. Urango, Angulo vs. Cintron on May 30th – News
By Jim Dower: In a move that doesn’t surprise me in the least, WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto (24-0, 19 KOs), arguably the weakest of the welterweight champions, will defend his title against light welterweight Juan Urango (21-1, 16 KOs) in a 12-round bout on May 30th at the Seminole Hard Rock hotel, in Hollywood, Florida. Urango, 28, in his biggest fight of his career was defeated by Ricky Hatton in a 12-round lopsided decision in January 2007.
Can Cintron Beat Cotto?
By Eric Thomas: With former IBF welterweight champion Kermit Cintron (30-2-1, 27 KOs) looking more and more like Miguel Cotto’s opponent for June, if Cotto defeats Michael Jennings this Saturday night for the vacant WBO welterweight title, it potentially sets up an exciting fight between two hard hitting punchers known for their knockout power. The question here is whether Cintron, 29, has enough left in the tank to defeat a quality fighter like Cotto.
Sergio Martinez = The New Calzaghe
By Sean McDaniel: While watching interim WBC light middleweight champion Sergio Martinez (44-1-2, 24 KOs) get royally shafted last week against Kermit Cintron, I couldn’t help but notice that Martinez’s fighting style was remarkably similar to former super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe, and maybe a little better than Joe in many ways. Martinez looked sensational for most of the fight, moving standing in front of Cintron with his hands down, pot shotting him with fast punches, while avoiding most of Cintron’s huge power shots.
Cintron: Does He Have Problems Handling Pressure?
By Scott Gilfoid: Once again, Kermit Cintron (30-2-1, 27 KOs) blows a fight that he easily has the skills to win with his latest flub up, a 12-round draw with Sergio Martinez this past weekend. I don’t know what Cintron’s problem is but whatever it is, I thinking it’s beyond fixing at this point. It was sickening to watch him crumble under the slightest bit of pressure from Martinez, backing off and fighting defensively for much of the fight.
