bertoBy Dan Ambrose: 31-year-old Andre Berto (30-3, 23 KOs) may have temporarily resurrected his boxing career with a 6th round knockout last Friday night on Spike TV in his victory over Josesito Lopez (33-7, 19 KOs) at the Citizens Business Bank Arena, in Ontario, California, USA.

With the victory, Berto captured the interim WBA World welterweight title, and put himself in position to get a world title shot at WBA 147 pound champion Keith Thurman this year.

Also on the card is former IBF/WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto (29-3, 22 KOs) fighting former world title challenger Josesito Lopez (33-6, 19 KOs) in a 10 round bout. Rounding out the card is heavyweight former world title challenge Chris Arreola (35-4, 31 KOs) facing little known heavyweight Curtis Harper (12-3, 8 KOs) in a 10 round bout.

Berto, 31, will be fighting on Spike TV on the Premier Boxing Champions series in what Berto hopes is a fight that will be successful for him. It would be Berto’s second straight win if he can beat the 30-year-old Lopez.
