By Jim Dower: IBF bantamweight champion Joseph Agbeko (28-2, 22 KO’s) won’t be able to defend his International Boxing Federation title this Saturday night in Showtime’s Bantamweight tournament against challenger Abner Mares (21-0-1, 13 KO’s) due to Agbeko suffering a case of sciatica after a long plane ride. Agbeko collapsed shortly after the plane flight and was face down on the canvas unable to move for a short period of time. He was then taken to a nearby hospital and has been ruled medically unable to fight for Saturday night against Mares.
