Geale: Golovkin has all the pressure on him

geale66(Photo credit: Will Hart, K2 Promotions) By Chris Williams: Former IBF/WBA middleweight champion Daniel Geale (30-2, 16 KOs) feels absolutely zero pressure on him for his fight against WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golokvin (29-0, 26 KOs), because everyone is expecting him to be blown out quickly by Golovkin at Madison Square Garden in New York.

With everyone expecting him be knocked out easily, it allows Geale to potentially steal the show by beating the more popular and seemingly invincible Golovkin. If Geale is able to pull off an upset in this fight, he’d be sinking one of HBO’s brightest stars before he struck gold with them. They want obviously don’t want to see Golovkin take a loss to anyone right now and lose out on a potential star.

Dela Hoya may not agree to a Canelo-Golovkin Fight

canelo14By Idris Morrey: The kind of talent waiting to face Saul “Canelo” Alvarez is growing steadily by the day. Names are coming up and they have convincing records to deserve a match-up with the hard hitting Mexican.

The worrying bit is whether Canelo Alvarez’s promoter and Golden boy president Oscar Dela Hoya will really accept to let lose one of his from from the stable to face the dangerous middleweight fighters. From earlier on, it was expressed during the All Access Showtime episodes that De La Hoya was against Canelo fighting the Cuban Boxer Erislandy Lara. From his style, the left- handed Lara has been a dreaded fighter. Oscar publicly confessed that he did not want Canelo to face the Cuban. In their recent fight, it became evident that Dela Hoya’s fear was real from the beginning

Bellew: Geale will be sickened by Golovkin’s body punches

geale5(Photo credit: Will Hart, K2 Promotions) By Scott Gilfoid: Former world title challenger Tony Bellew isn’t giving Australian Daniel Geale (30-2, 16 KOs) much of a chance for his title challenge this Saturday night against WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (29-0, 26 KOs).

Bellew sees Golovkin hurting the 33-year-old Geale with his body punching much in the same way that Golovkin obliterated Matthew Macklin with a left to the body in their fight in June of 2013. Macklin was left on the canvas grabbing his midsection with a look of excruciating pain after getting hit hard to the body by Golovkin.

Purses: GGG $750K, Geale $600k, Jennings $130k, Perez $60k

golovkin9999(Photo credit: Will Hart, K2 Promotions) By Dan Ambrose: WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (29-0, 26 KO’s) will be getting $750,000 for his purse for his title defense against Daniel Geale (30-2, 16 KOs) on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden in New York, according to Dan Rafael.

Geale, a popular fighter in Australia but not that well known in the U.S, will get slightly less at $600,000 for being the B-side of the equation at MSG.

In the co-feature, heavyweight Bryant Jennings (18-0, 10 KOs) will be getting $130,000 for his WBC heavyweight eliminator bout against Cuban fighter Mike Perez (20-0-1, 12 KOs). The winner of the Jennings-Perez fight becomes the second mandatory challenger to WBC heavyweight champion Bermane Stiverne. Perez will make $60,000 for the fight.

Geale: I can beat Golovkin

geale55(Photo credit: Will Hart, K2 Promotions) By Jim Dower: Former IBF/WBA middleweight champion Daniel Geale (30-2, 16 KOs) expects to hand WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (29-0, 26 KOs) his first loss of his career on Saturday night in their big fight.

Geale, 33, has studied Golovkin’s past fights and seen some huge holes in his game that he feels he can exploit on Saturday night. Geale isn’t saying what those flaws are, but it’s quite possible that he’s seen that Golovkin is easy to hit due to his habit of putting everything he has into each shot he throws.

Golovkin thinking about unifying middleweight titles after Geale fight

golovkin(Photo credit: Will Hart) By Allan Fox: WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (29-0, 26 KOs) may be defending his title on Saturday night against ex-IBF/WBA champion Daniel Geale (30-2, 16 KOs), but he’s thinking a lot about unifying the middleweight title against the other middleweight champions in the division right now. Golovkin and Geale will be fighting at Madison Square Garden in New York in a fight that will be televised by HBO.

Geale is just a regular title defense and little more for him. Golovkin is taking the fight seriously, but he’s not making more of it than he normally would. Geale is a good fighter with a difficult style, but he’s also a lighter puncher that was beaten recently by Darren Barker and who barely got past Felix Sturm.

Geale might beat Golovkin, says Soliman

golovkin43(Photo credit: Will Hart) By Dan Ambrose: IBF middleweight champion Sam Soliman believes that fellow Australian Daniel Geale (30-2, 16 KOs) is capable of pulling off a big upset this Saturday night against WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (29-0, 26 KOs) if he fights at the top of his game and puts in an A-level performance in their fight at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Most boxing experts don’t see Geale as having a chance against Golovkin even if he has the best fight of his career. It’s a difference in levels, and Geale is seen as a guy that is around same class as Felix Sturm and Anthony Mundine. Those are guys that Golovkin would likely obliterate if he had ever fought them before they started slipping.

Golovkin vs. Geale on HBO this Saturday at MSG, New York

New York City (July 21, 2014) First stop for World Middleweight Champion GENNADY “GGG” GOLOVKIN on Monday afternoon when he arrived in New York City was to check out the massive billboard in Times Square for his highly anticipated World Middleweight Championship against two-time world champion DANIEL “The Real Deal” GEALE, this Saturday, July 26 at The Mecca of Boxing, Madison Square Garden and LIVE on HBO World Championship Boxing ® beginning at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT.

Amidst a huge crowd of fans and supporters, Golovkin took photos and signed autographs before heading to his headquarters for fight week.

Golovkin to test his power on Geale

1-k2071614BBy Dan Ambrose: WBA middleweight champion Gennedy Golovkin (29-0, 26 KOs) is hoping that he can become the first fighter to officially stop Daniel Geale (30-2, 16 KOs) when they face each other this Saturday night on HBO.

Geale has been fighting 10 years as a pro, but no one during that time has ever come close to knocking him out during that entire time. But then again, Geale has never fought Golovkin before. This is going to be a whole new experience and test for Geale.

If he can survive the full 12 rounds, he’ll be the first guy in the past 5 years that has survived 12 rounds against Golovkin. Winning probably isn’t an option for Geale, but if he can just make finish on his feet, it would be saying a lot about him.

Golovkin needs to impress against Geale this Saturday

1-k2071614CBy Allan Fox: WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (29-0, 26 KO’s) is in a situation where he not only needs to beat former IBF/WBA middleweight champion Daniel Geale (30-2, 16 KO’s) in their fight at Madison Square Garden in New York, but Golovkin needs to win an impressive manner by knocking the 33-year-old Geale out.

Golovkin needs to look good because he doesn’t have the built in fan base that more popular fighters like Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, Miguel Cotto and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr all have. Those are the guys that Golovkin would like to fight in the near future, but if he fails to keep winning in an overpowering way each time he fights, he’ll give them an excuse to avoid fighting him.
