Mayweather can play games, but can he fight?

Image: Mayweather can play games, but can he fight?By Bob Bethe: I didn’t want to write an article on Manny Pacquiao – Mayweather until I knew it would happen – and now I’m pretty proud of myself, I figured Floyd Mayweather Jr would get himself out of it. Bob Arum doesn’t think it will happen, yet Roach says, “Where else is he gonna get this kind of money? We don’t need him. He needs us.” Which is true. Mayweather wouldn’t fight Shane Mosley after Mosely came in and challenged him. Now Mosley is fighting Andre Berto for a two title welterweight unification bout on HBO. Mayweather doesn’t have any options.

Don’t be shy Pacquiao – take the blood tests

Image: Don't be shy Pacquiao - take the blood testsBy Liam Santiago: Mayweather does not want to send Pacquiao to the moon. He just wants a fair fight. Is that really so bad? Also, I can not understand why on every boxing news forum, almost every fan is pinning the blame for what could be the cancellation of this bout on Mayweather. Pacquiao is at fault if this fight does not happen.

Mayweather-Pacquiao: No point in calling it off

Image: Mayweather-Pacquiao: No point in calling it offBy Peter Wells: Honestly I don’t know why this fight shouldn’t go ahead, and I am pointing this at both promoters and fighters. Firstly Pacquiao will take a blood test, next January, and will also take one after the fight. So if World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao is clean in January people will say, he’s gonna take the drugs before the fight. Then that is why he is taking a test after the fight, which means if he was on performance enhancing drugs then they would show up on the test after the fight.

Mayweather vs. Pacquiao: Cough Up Some Blood, Manny

Image: Mayweather vs. Pacquiao: Cough Up Some Blood, MannyBy Frank Car: Come on, Manny, cough up some blood. No not from a barrage of body shots, but through a needle in an Olympic-style drug test. Pacquiao’s camp seemingly agreed to this style test earlier but changed their mind on this past Tuesday or so, and is now to be the only left keeping contracts from being signed.

Ricky Hatton has more chance of beating Mayweather than Pacquiao

Image: Ricky Hatton has more chance of beating Mayweather than PacquiaoBy Liam Santiago: I really hate to be the one who ruins all the hype for the March 13th showdown between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, but Pacquiao does not have a chance. Why? Because he can only fight guys that come to him. Cotto, Hatton and De La Hoya were all pressurizing Pac Man and trying to out power him. If you stay on the back foot, Pacquiao can not do a thing to you.

Mayweather wants Pacquiao to provide blood tests – news

Image: Mayweather wants Pacquiao to provide blood tests - newsBy Liam Santiago: Floyd Mayweather Snr has told fight hype that he wants World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao to take blood test, prior to their March 13th showdown in Vegas, after much speculation linking Pacquiao to performing enhancing drugs. However, although Freddie Roach has no problem with the tests, he does not want them to be conducted any shorter than six weeks prior to the bout as it may affect Pac Man mentally. Mayweather, however, strongly disagrees. He said in an article at Fight Hype, ”He [Roach] didn’t even say Manny would be too drained if he gave blood, he said it would affect him [Pacquiao] mentally, so unless he has something to hide, it shouldn’t affect him mentally.”

Bradley: “I’m not a sparring partner” – Not looking like Timothy will help Pacquiao

Image: Bradley: "I'm not a sparring partner" - Not looking like Timothy will help PacquiaoBy Manuel Perez: It’s not looking good for Manny Pacquiao and Freddie Roach as far as them getting World Boxing Organization light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (25-0, 11 KO’s) as a sparring partner to help Manny prepare for his March 13th bout against Floyd Mayweather Jr. In an article with Steve Kim of Max boxing, Bradley said I”ll talk it over with my team. Personally, if Manny decides to retire or something, of course, but I don’t really want to give Manny [or Roach] a look at me if I’m going to end up fighting him one day. I don’t really want to five him a look. Ricky Hatton tried to get me over to his camp one time, and it just didn’t happen because I’m not sparring partner for anybody. I’m a world champion, I’m not a sparring partner.” Ouch! I don’t blame Bradley for not wanting to be a sparring partner for Pacquiao.

Mayweather vs. Pacquiao: Don’t count Manny out

Image: Mayweather vs. Pacquiao: Don't count Manny outBy Jamie Hooper: I don’t think there has been a fight in the last ten years that has created as much excitement and anticipation as this one. After Christmas and new year are out the way. The pound for pound number one and number two will start training for a fight that could reinvigorate the whole boxing scene. After Floyd Mayweather’s easy win over Juan Manuel Marquez, my initial thoughts where that Mayweather would handle Pacquiao in a similar masterful fashion. As time has gone by, my opinion has started to change. In Manny Pacquiao, Mayweather has a lot to deal with.
