Mayweather didn’t duck Margarito or Cotto
By Roberto Elmore: After Manny Pacquiao made easy work of Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito, the howls of “Floyd ducked both of these fighters” reemerged. Many of these claims have been opinionated and have not yet seen proof of these allegations. I did write an article stating that Mayweather side stepping Margarito was a good move. And financially it was back then.
Khan’s golden road to Mayweather?
By Shaun Campbell: World Boxing Association (WBA) light-welterweight champion Amir Khan has expressed his desire to fight former WBC welterweight champion and pound for pound king Floyd Mayweather before he retires. Khan, who is set to clash with Argentina’s Marcos Maidana on Saturday night, has said, “I’m in boxing to fight the very best out there and that means Floyd right now for me. Ricky (Hatton) went to Vegas and met the best to try and prove that he was the best and I will continue where Ricky failed – it’s why we fight. Manny knows that Floyd will never fight him and it could be me that gets in the ring with Floyd – that is a real fight.”
Khan faces Maidana on Saturday, but still talking about his pipe dream fight against Mayweather
By William Mackay: Amir Khan (23-1, 17 KO’s) has what could be a make it or break it fight this Saturday night against World Boxing Association (WBA) light welterweight interim champion Marcos Maidana (29-1, 27 KO’s) in Las Vegas, Nevada, and yet Khan is still talking about a future fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. It’s as if Khan thinks the Maidana fight is practically in the bag. I don’t know what his trainer Freddie Roach has been telling him about his skills during their training camp for the Maidana fight, but Khan needs to realize that Maidana is likely going to end his dreams with one big shot on Saturday night.
Schaefer stands behind letting Mayweather work out his legal problems before he fights again
By Dan Ambrose: Bob Arum, the promoter for Manny Pacquiao, is anxious to try and line up a fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Pacquiao for April 16th next year at the MGM Grand, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Arum has already booked the Grand for Pacquiao’s next fight, be it Mayweather or someone else like 39-year-old fading star Shane Mosley.
Arum draws shortlist for Pacquaio: No Mayweather or Martinez included
By Dallan o’ Donnell: Top rank promoter Bob Arum has drawn up his list of candidates for pound for pound king Manny Pacquaio to fight next. The list includes Shane Mosley, Andre Berto and a long time foe of Manny’s Juan Manuel Marquez whom he has already fought twice drawing the first and narrowly beating him by split decision in their rematch. This shortlist is more than disappointing. Sergio Martinez was not included despite speculation that both men would have fought one another.
Mayweather remains #1 priority for Pacquiao, says Arum
By Jason Kim: Unbeaten Floyd Mayweather Jr. (41-0, 25 KO’s) remains the number one option for Manny Pacquiao’s next fight, according to promoter Bob Arum. That’s still the fight that he and Pacquiao want to make next despite Mayweather’s recent legal problems.
Who should Many Pacquiao fight next?
By Keith Darren: Whenever we are confronted by this question, we all have one answer, and that is Floyd Mayweather Jr. But we also know very well that Floyd might not be Pacquiao’s next opponent, more likely because Money May have some problems to attend to that would need his full attention, legal problems that surely are, or will be, the biggest hindrance to a mega fight between him and the newly crowned super welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao.
Floyd fan’s reasons why Money will beat Pacquiao: I beg to disagree
By Juan dela Cruz: Reason No. 1: That Floyd is bigger in size, defense and harder to hit and that Pacquiao fought mentally damaged fighters.
Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather: Fight of The Century
By Edgar Solorzano: About 2 years ago most boxing fans believed Manny Pacquiao wasn’t big enough for most prize fighters in the welterweight division. Only a few had faith in him. The Filipino star was already considered one of the best in the light-weight division.
