By Allan Fox: WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr’s documentary titled “30 days in May” will be televised next Wednesday, April 3rd on Showtime. Check out the trailer. The documentary chronicles some of the recent events in Mayweather’s life, including the build-up to his May 4th title defense against Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (31-1-1, 18 KO’s) at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Mayweather recently signed a six-fight contract with Showtime/CBS that will make him huge money, but the pressure is on him to win these pay-per-view fights. Broner, 23, said on his twitter: “Man, I really hope Robert “gotta gun” Guerrero [will] be OK. LOL.”

I imagine Guerrero will eventually be ok, but he’s got some serious charges hanging over his head as he prepares for his May 4th fight with Mayweather at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Guerrero was charged with illegally carrying with a firearm [pistol] in New York. That’s not all. Guerrero also had three, 15-round high capacity gun magazines with him in a case along with the pistol.

01GuerreroenteringpresserIMG_0033(Photo credit: Casino/Showtime) By Dan Ambrose: Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (31-1-1, 18 KO’s) says he’s not going to let WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (43-0, 26 KO’s) get in his game when they meet up in two months on May 4th at them MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Guerrero says he’s going to go out and take immediate control of the fight like he did with former IBF/WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto in his last fight in November of last year in beating Berto by a 12 round unanimous decision. Guerrero started fast, and never really let Berto get his own game started.

Guerrero said to ESPN: “Definitely there’s no intimidation, and I think he’s starting to figure out that it’s pretty hard to intimidate me. He’d doing things that he’s never done before. He gets out there; he looks at me, and then just goes off talking. Since then, he’s been totally calm.

09GuerreroandwifeCaseyIMG_0274(Photo credit: Casino/Showtime) By Dan Ambrose: Having been ignored in his attempts at getting the biggest payday of his career in a fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. (43-0, 26 KO’s) in September, WBC junior middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez is now hoping that Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (31-1-1, 18 KO’s) will defeat Mayweather in their fight on May 4th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Guerrero: God has put me here to humble Floyd Mayweather Jr

guerrero7777(Photo credit: Casino/Showtime) By Dan Ambrose: Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (31-1-1, 18 KO’s) believes God picked him out of all the fighters in boxing to defeat Floyd Mayweather Jr. (43-0, 26 KO’s) in their fight on May 4th. Guerrero sees it as one of those destiny type of things where he specifically was picked out for this purpose.

Guerrero said “I believe God put me here to humble Floyd Mayweather, and it is going to happen.”

I hope Guerrero doesn’t get himself too worked up on the God angle because you’d hate to see him to go to pieces if he doesn’t step in and give him this gift that he feels that he’s bestowed upon him. Guerrero has talent, but I’m sure he’s got the kind of talent needed for him to beat Mayweather.

Floyd Mayweather Jr, Question time!

floyd17By Tom Drury: As a great admirer of Floyd Mayweather and his boxing skills I find it insulting how fans criticize him on the basis of his personality, some even dare to criticize his achievements inside the ring. I am not a biased writer, I am a boxing fan and the best fighter in our sport is Floyd Mayweather Jr.

I say this from personal experience of witnessing Mayweather fight and understanding all the facts surrounding his 17 year career. I have wrote numerous articles on Mayweather Jr and posted them on this forum, while many comments prove knowledge of the sport, some are bordering on insanity.

Floyd Mayweather, does the “L” await?

floyd801By Tom Drury: Floyd Mayweather is now 36 years old, you could say “getting on” in regards to age as a fighter that occupies the lower weight classes, most welterweight fighters peak from around 24-30 the reason for this being the high tempo these guys fight at. We see many of the fighters skills diminish rapidly in the welterweight division due to their age and punishment they have received over their careers, Manny Pacquiao and Shane Mosley two perfect examples of diminished skills.

Drug testing for Mayweather-Pacquiao: What’s the point?

floyd5By Rob Blakeman: I know the lust for a fight between these two modern greats has diminished due to Manny Pacquiao being defeated in sensational style by Juan Manuel Marquez in his last fight but I have no doubt Manny will bounce back and look equally as spectacular himself with some good victories over quality fighters in the near future. So if the proposition of what still may be the most interesting fight out there rears its head again let’s look at why it may not happen-again.

Let’s look at the original reasons for the event not happening. We in the know-know neither fighter fears any man. We also know that promoters with their own politics and protection of cash-cows are the main reason fights that should happen don’t. Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny are both true fighting men who spend most of their time thinking about fighting because they love it.
