McKenna (McJack): Over the past couple of days two legendary fighters have come out publicly in support of pound for pound king Manny Pacquiao (53-3-3, 38 KO’s) in the ongoing dispute with Floyd Mayweather (41-0, 25 KO’s) regarding random drug testing as being the reason that the match up between the two has not taken place.

Holyfield defeats Nielsen, continues his slow march to another world title shot

Image: Holyfield defeats Nielsen, continues his slow march to another world title shotBy Dan Ambrose: 48-year-old Evander Holyfield (44-10-2, 29 KO’s) toyed with 46-year-old Danish heavyweight Brian Nielsen (64-3, 43 KO’s), defeating him by a 10th round TKO last night at the Koncecerthuset, in Copenhagen, Denmark. Holyfield knocked Nielsen down once in the 3rd from a left hook and then finished him off in the 10th with a flurry of shots while Nielsen was trapped in the corner. Nielsen wasn’t happy with the stoppage, complaining about some headbutts that he had been tagged with moments earlier as well as some rabbit shots that he was hit with while he bending forward.

Holyfield to still fight Brian Nielsen on March 5th

By Eric Thomas: Despite getting badly rocked repeatedly by 38-year-old journeyman fighter Sherman Williams in his fight last Saturday night, 48-year-old Evander Holyfield (43-1–2, 28 KO’s) is going to continue his career and fight his previously scheduled bout with 45-year-old Brian Nielsen (64-2, 43 KO’s) on March 5th in Koncerthuset, Copenhagen, Denmark. Holyfield looked old, slow and weak against Williams last weekend. His punches had no steam on them and the only thing that was recognizable in Holyfield’s old fighting style was his bounce and his combinations.

Holyfield would have beat Williams

By Derek Holian: Somehow, some fight fans seem pretty sure that Evander Holyfield was on his way to taking a beating against Sherman ‘the tank’ Williams had there fight continued at the weekend. However im not quite sure how they can justify this prediction. Yes Evander certainly looked a little slow off the mark, and yes he got cut from a clash of heads, and had to take a couple of right hands, but anyone who has followed Evanders career will know Evander has always been somewhat of a slow starter, and with age and inactivity he is becoming increasingly a slower starter.

Did Holyfield pull a quit job against Williams?

By Dan Ambrose: It sure looked to me like 48-year-old Evander Holyfield (43-10-2, 28 KO’s) quit last Saturday night after the 3rd round against Sherman Williams (34-11-2, 19 KO’s) after getting badly hurt from a series of looping fight hands and left hooks by Williams. Holyfield ended up getting a small cut over his left eye from a clash of heads in the 2nd round, but the cut was stopped in between rounds and it was barely bleeding when Holyfield was getting royally battered by Williams in the 3rd.

Will Haye choose to fight Holyfield now?

By William Mackay: Evander Holyfield looked nothing like his old self on Saturday night in fighting to a 3rd round no decision to Sherman Williams after the fight was stopped due to a head butt in this pay-per-view bout in West Virgina. Holyfield got staggered in the 3rd and was getting lit up in the round before the fight was stopped after the round due to the cut. It wasn’t a bad cut, but it looked like Holyfield had enough of Williams.
