By Forin: WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward (26-0, 14 KO’s) seems to be having a hard time getting Edwin Rodriguez (24-0, 16 KO’s) to agree to fight him on HBO. Rodriguez is reportedly demanding in excess of $ 1 million to take the fight which Ward says is not going to happen. Since everyone is entitled to price themselves the way they see fit, I am not going to comment on the financial side of this proposed match up.
What I do want to say is that this fight would definitely be more than a “total mismatch” as one particular writer likes to call it. HBO is really pushing for this fight to happen and trust me, HBO are not stupid, they like this fight for a reason.
When you think about it, Lucian Bute struggled for 12 rounds in winning a controversial decision over Denis Grachev, while Rodriguez destroyed Grachev in round 1 of their July fight in Monte Carlo.
By Scott Gilfoid: WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward (26-0, 14 KO’s) says that unbeaten, #1 WBC, #3 WBA, #3 IBF, #6 WBO, Edwin Rodriguez (24-0, 16 KO’s) wants $1 million plus in order for Ward to face him in what would be pretty much little more than a high caliber tune-up bout on HBO. Ward says his team already gave Rodriguez a perfectly reasonable offer, which wasn’t far from what Rodriguez’s team wants, but it was turned down. Rodriguez won’t get the $1 million plus that he’s asking for, says Ward.
By Allan Fox: Undefeated super middleweight contender Edwin Rodriguez (24-0, 16 KO’s) never even gave Russian fighter Denis Grachev (13-2-1, 8 KO’s) a chance tonight in blowing him out in a 1st round TKO win at the Salle des etoiles, in Monte Carlo, Monaco.

By Omar Torres: Edwin Rodriguez (22-0 15 KOs) was unable to join the 2008 Olympics because of the birth of his premature twins who where born at just 23 weeks. Now Edwin is one of the top prospects in professional boxing from the super middleweight division and is working his way up the rankings.
By Allan Fox: Unbeaten super middleweight Edwin Rodriguez (22-0, 15 KO’s) will be facing Argentina’s Ezequiel Osvaldo Maderna (19-0, 13 KO’s) and former two division world champion Zsolt Erdei (33-0, 18 KO’s) will be taking on Dennis Grachev (12-1-1, 8 KO’s) in a four-fighter light heavyweight tournament on March 30th at the Chapiteau de Fontvielle, Monte Carlo.
By Scott Gilfoid: With it looking more and more like IBF super middleweight champion Carl Froch will elect to fight a rematch against Mikkel Kessler in early 2013, this leaves former IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute (31-1, 24 KO’s) without an opponent for early 2013. However, the talented 32-year-old Bute could end up facing unbeaten #3 IBF, #5 WBC, #8 WBA, Edwin Rodriguez (22-0, 15 KO’s) in March 2013.
