Stieglitz, 28, recently captured the WBO title with an 11th round stoppage of the previous champion Karoly Balzsay on August 22, 2009, in a fight in which the action went back and forth for 10 rounds before Balzsay suddenly ran out of gas in the 11th round and was stopped.

The win keeps Miranda in contention in the super middleweight division where he hopes to get a title shot in the future.

By Jason Kim: After losing by a 12th round knockout to former International Boxing Federation middleweight champion Arthur Abraham (31-0, 25 KO’s) on Saturday night with only six seconds to go in the bout, there are questions whether Jermain Taylor (28-4-1, 17 KO’s) will continue forward in the Super Six tournament. Taylor, 31, was viciously knocked out by a hard right hand from Abraham in the waning seconds of the bout, causing Taylor to fall back first on the canvas with the back of his head bouncing off the canvas hard.
