We usually call these fighters cash cows or the A side and they have the power to make fights, not make fights, or delay them. Whether we like it or not, this has been the norm since the sport came into existence.
By Scott Gilfoid: Deontay Wilder confirmed on Monday that he’ll be in attendance for Tyson Fury’s fight this Saturday night against Francesco Pianeta at Windsor Park in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Fury (26-0, 19 KOs) and WBC heavyweight champion Wilder (40-0, 39 KOs) are in negotiations to face each other on November 10 or November 17 in the United States.
By Scott Gilfoid: Tyson Fury took to social media to reticule Anthony Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn to gloat about being on the verge of facing WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder in November. Hearn had been saying recently that the Wilder-Fury fight wouldn’t be happening, but now he’s about to eat his words and Fury is gloating majorly 100 percent about it.

In a controversial move, the WBA has sanctioned the #5 WBA Flores vs. Bryan fight for their interim WBA heavyweight title.
By Jim Dower: Deontay Wilder says he’s going to cripple challenger Dominic Breazeale when the time comes for him to defend his WBC heavyweight title against him in the future. Wilder (40-0, 39 KOs) says the 32-year-old Breazeale (19-1, 17 KOs) is going to get what’s coming to him.

What makes it painfully obvious to Lewis that Joshua just doesn’t fancy the fight with the 6’7” lightning quick Deontay is the $50 million offer that he turned down from Team Wilder.
By Jeff Aranow: Former heavyweight world title challenger Dominic Breazeale is complaining that he’s not started negotiations yet for a fight against WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder. Breazeale is unhappy that Wilder hasn’t started negotiations with him. Breazeale (19-1, 17 KOs) feels that Wilder should start the negotiations with him due to him being his mandatory since his 8th round stoppage win over Eric Molina last November.

Oleksandr Usyk landed on top in the first battle at cruiserweight, George Groves and Callum Smith will contest 168lb final and another two divisions, lightweight and bantamweight have been confirmed with a host of stars in each to commence later in the year. What would a heavyweight tournament look like though. Boxing’s flagship division is having a bit of trouble getting the stars together namely Joshua and Wilder and the idea of the WBSS is that it brings the best together with one ultimate goal to find the best fighter in the division. In reality I think there is to much conflict and money at heavyweight for the best to agree but lets live in a fantasy world and see how this might turn out if it ever happened.
