Eubank Jr. vs. Quinlan & Price vs. Hammer tonight

Image: Eubank Jr. vs. Quinlan & Price vs. Hammer tonight

By Scott Gilfoid: Chris Eubank Jr. (23-1, 18 KOs) is coming into tonight’s title challenge against IBO super middleweight champion Renold Quinlan (11-1, 7 KOs) with a nice little five-fight winning streak against weak opposition when the two of them face each other on ITV pay-per-view at the Olympian in London, England.

In the co-feature, former British and Commonwealth heavyweight champion David Price (21-3, 18 KOs) will be taking a risky fight against fringe contender Christian Hammer (20-4, 11 KOs) in a 12 round fight. Hammer will be defending his WBO European heavyweight title. I guess that’s something that the 33-year-old Price was hoping would be on the line, as it might help push him up in the World Boxing Organization’s rankings if he can win the WBO European strap.

Eubank Jr: I’ve got a plan to beat Golovkin

Image: Eubank Jr: I’ve got a plan to beat Golovkin

By Scott Gilfoid: Chris Eubank Jr. (23-1, 18 KOs) says he’s going to “roast” middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin. Eubank Jr. says he’s formulated a plan that he plans on using against Golovkin when the two of them eventually share the ring together. Eubank Jr. says he’s not impressed with Golovkin, and he sees “holes” in his game that he plans on taking advantage of.

Just when the two of them will be facing each other is the big question. Eubank Jr. already blew one chance to fight Golovkin on September 10 last year when he failed to sign the contract for the fight.

Golovkin beats Jacobs says Eubank Jr.

By Eric Baldwin: Chris Eubank Jr. is picking IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin to defeat Daniel Jacobs in their fight next month on March 18 on HBO PPV. Eubank Jr. thinks that he’ll ultimately be the one that hands the unbeaten Golovkin (36-0, 33 KOs) his first loss of his career in the near future.

When the two of them get around to facing each other is anyone’s guess. Eubank Jr. has a fight this Saturday night against IBO super middleweight champion Renold Quinlan (11-1, 7 KOs) on February 4 on ITV pay-per-view at the Olympia in London, England. Eubank Jr. is expected to win that fight.

Eubank Jr. wrecks Andre Ward says Chris Sr.

Image: Eubank Jr. wrecks Andre Ward says Chris Sr.

By Allan Fox: Chris Eubank Sr. says his son unbeaten Chris Eubank Jr. (23-1, 18 KOs) beats IBF/WBA/WBO light heavyweight champion Andre “SOG” Ward (31-0, 15 KOs). Eubank Sr. says that they’re looking to get a fight against Ward, because he believes that he “couldn’t live” with Eubank Jr.

Eubank Sr. notes that Ward threw only 35 punches in the 3rd round in his last fight against former 175lb champion Sergey Kovalev last November. That’s proof in Eubank Sr’s mind that Ward couldn’t deal with the younger 27-year-old Eubank Jr., because he throws three times as many punches than that per round.

Haye: Eubank Jr. has a chance of beating Golovkin

Image: Haye: Eubank Jr. has a chance of beating Golovkin

By Jeff Aranow: David Haye sees Chris Eubank Jr. as the only fighter that has the chance of beating IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (36-0, 33 KOs) if the two of them ever meet each other during their careers. Eubank Jr. already passed on the option of fighting Golovkin last year, and I’m not sure whether he’ll get a second chance unless he can become a big star.

Right now, it would seem that Golovkin is cool to the idea of him facing Eubank Jr. Golovkin already is having a devil of a time just trying to get a fight against Mexican star Saul “Canelo” Alvarez. He doesn’t need a second headache of trying to get a fight against Eubank Jr., and having no luck.

Eubank Jr. to DeGale: I’m coming for the rest of those teeth

By Scott Gilfoid: Chris Eubank Jr. says he’s coming for the rest of IBF super middleweight champion James DeGale’s teeth after he gets done with International Boxing Organization 168lb champion Renold Quinlan (11-1, 7 KOs) in their fight next month on February 4 at the Olympia in London, England.

DeGale (23-1-1, 14 KOs) had some teeth knocked out by WBC super middleweight champion Badou Jack (20-1-3, 12 KOs) in their 12 round draw last Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

By Jeff Aranow: Addressing the rumors circulating around that IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (36-0, 33 KOs) is in negotiations for a fight against Chris Eubank Jr. (23-1, 18 KOs), Golovkin’s promoter Tom Loeffler says they’re not true, but they are still interested in fighting the 27-year-old fighter.

Golovkin, 34, has a tough fight on his hands against WBA World middleweight champion Daniel “Miracle Man” Jacobs (32-1, 29 KOs) on March 18 on HBO pay-per-view from Madison Square Garden in New York.

Quinlan expects to KO Eubank Jr. on Feb.4

Image: Quinlan expects to KO Eubank Jr. on Feb.4

By Scott Gilfoid: IBO super middleweight champion Renold Quinlan (11-1, 7 KOs) plans on knocking out Chris Eubank Jr. (23-1, 18 KOs) in their fight on February 4 in London, England. While the 27-year-old Quinlan isn’t viewed by the boxing world as a knockout artist, he feels he’s got enough power to do the job on Eubank Jr. This isn’t Eubank Jr’s division.

Eubank Jr. normally fights at middleweight. He and his father decided to have him move up to 168 to capture what they consider a world title with the IBO belt. Eubank Jr. wants to use that strap to get bigger fights against the champions in the division.

Eubank Jr. says Golovkin fight will happen in 2017

Image: Eubank Jr. says Golovkin fight will happen in 2017

By Scott Gilfoid: Chris Eubank Jr. disappointed a lot of his boxing fans when he failed to agree to a fight against middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin last September. The fight was offered to Eubank Jr. by his promoter Eddie Hearn. When Eubank Jr. failed to agree to the terms of the fight quickly enough to Hearn’s liking, he offered it to welterweight Kell Brook, who readily agreed to the same deal.

Eubank Jr. has now moved up to super middleweight. However, the 27-year-old Eubank Jr. believes that the Golovkin fight is still there for him, and that he’ll be fighting him in 2017, believe it or not.
