Give Mayweather Jr his credit!

mayweather4534556By Jorge Lugo: In a world where everyone takes advantage of each other Mayweather Jr has used his head just as much as his fists. With everyone (including Me) stating Mayweather hasn’t fought real fights or that he is a average fighter is one thing. But the fact is, from what I understand. Mayweather has agreed on his half to fighting Manny Pacquiao in 2010.

Bailey-Barnes; Everyone loves an upset!

By Mark Fletcher: Once again Hennessey Sports put on a great night of British domestic boxing, of course as expected Darren Barker added the British middleweight title to his commonwealth crown, Lee Purdy retained his Southern area title and hot prospect Yassine El Machi scored an impressive knockout, Yet the bout that caught my eye was the four-rounder between Sheffield’s highly-rated prospect Steve Barnes (then 3-1, 1KO) and Slough journeyman Ian Bailey (then 4-3).

The Legends of Yesteryear (part 1 of 10) :Tommy Farr

by Daniel Ciminera: I would like to share, not my 10 favourite boxers, but 10 boxers who, for me, were the reasons boxing was so exciting and drew me in like a moth to a flame when I was a child. I’m not very old, I’m only 23, so perhaps these names have more to do with my father’s influence on me as he was the one who got me interested in boxing, himself boxing internationally. Despite not being old enough to have seen most of these guys live, I was brought up watching tapes of them and being gripped as though I were ringside, throwing every punch along with them and screaming them on to victory. After all, that’s what boxing is all about right?

Mayweather Poses the Biggest Threat To Pacquiao, And you Pacman fans know it

mayweather34245235By Kevin Park: You know what’s the most annoying thing about World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Manny Pacquaio? His one-sided biased fan base. I hate many of Pacquiao’s fans for their arrogance and ignorance, seriously. Many of the anti-Mayweather fans who claim he is over-rated, the majority are annoying Pacman fans. There is an excuse for every fight and we all know that. Whether it be the weight, the trainer, the ring, etc, etc.

Where does Miguel Cotto go from here?

By Jorge Lugo: Last night I had the privilege of watching Miguel Cotto vs. Manny Pacquiao. In what I knew was going to be a classic, I simply found myself going crazy with the anticipation simply because I honestly could not tell who would win. The three boxing fights before the main fight wouldn’t help my wait as they were awfully boring and long. But when the time came for the actual fight I was all focused.

Haye should pay Ruiz a step aside fee, and then fight Klitschko

haye45342By Scott Gilfoid: I think World Boxing Association heavyweight champion David Haye is making a big mistake if he moves ahead and defends his title against his mandatory challenger John Ruiz in 2010. If Haye had the talent and size of one of the Klitschko brothers, I’d recommend for him to go ahead and fight Ruiz. However, Haye isn’t a big heavyweight, has a weak chin, poor stamina and a equally poor work rate.

Vitali Klitschko: “I would Knock Haye out” – Boxing News

haye434342By Scott Gilfoid: In an article in The Sun, World Boxing Council heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko had some sobering news for newly crowned WBA heavyweight champion David Haye, saying “I’ll fight him at any time and knock him out”. Full congratulations to Haye. It was a good performance, a good points win. It was very close. It is a good fight for the future, maybe. I am ready to fight anyone in the world. I am ready to show to everyone I am the strongest in the world.”
