Joseph Parker vs. Andy Ruiz Jr. possible for December 10

parker1

By Scott Gilfoid: It looks like unbeaten heavyweight contender Joseph Parker may not need to bother waiting around for a title shot against IBF champion Anthony Joshua, because he could wind up fighting for a title on December 10 against unbeaten Andy Ruiz Jr. Parker destroyed Alexander Dimitrenko in three rounds last Saturday night in New Zealand in a stay busy fight.

The 24-year-old Parker could be about to fight Ruiz Jr. for a career high payday for one of the two heavyweight titles that champion Tyson Fury still has in his possession. Fury may be soon stripped of his WBA and WBO titles for him allegedly testing positive for cocaine. If that happens, then one of those titles could be available for Parker and the Top Rank promoted Ruiz to fight over.

Hearn says Joshua-Klitschko not done yet

joshua854

By Scott Gilfoid: There’s been a great deal of discussion in the boxing world about a fight between IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko for November 26, but unfortunately that fight is far from being made. Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn says the Joshua vs. Klitschko fight isn’t done yet.

It still remains to be seen who the 26-year-old Joshua will be fighting on that date at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, UK. Wladimir’s manager Bernd Boente says they’re waiting to hear from the World Boxing Organization about whether they’ll be stripping Tyson Fury of his WBO or WBA heavyweight titles following his recent pull out of his scheduled October 29 rematch against the 40-year-old Wladimir.

Klitschko waiting for WBO to decide on Fury situation

wladimir1

By Eric Baldwin: It took Wladimir Klitschko just three days to find a replacement opponent for Tyson Fury, as it appears that the big 6’6” Ukrainian heavyweight will be facing Anthony Joshua in November or December for one of Fury’s titles. Klitschko and his management are waiting to find out what the World Boxing Organization will be doing with Fury as far as stripping him or not of his WBO heavyweight title.

Wladimir and Joshua could be fighting in November or December for one of the two titles that Fury has holding since last November after beating Wladimir by a narrow 12 round decision. For Wladimir and Joshua to face each other, they’ll need a title to be up for grabs.

Joshua vs. Klitschko possible

joshua566

By Jim Dower: With Tyson Fury out of the picture in defending his IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight titles against Wladimir Klitschko, one possible fight that could occur in place of that is a match between Wladimir and IBF champion Anthony Joshua for one of Fury’s titles.

Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn is talking about possibly matching him against Wladimir for Fury’s World Boxing Association title if the WBA can strip him of the title in time for Joshua and Wladimir to fight in November. Fury and Klitschko were supposed to fight on October 29 at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England.

Fury pulled out of the fight, leaving Klitschko without the rematch and unable to fight for the titles that he lost to Fury last November. A fight between Wladimir and Joshua would make big news around the world with boxing fans. It would make good money on pay-per-view, and could easily sellout a stadium in the UK or in Germany.

Hearn wants Joshua vs. Klitschko match

fury1000

By Scott Gilfoid: With heavyweight champion Tyson Fury pulling out of his scheduled October 29 rematch against Wladimir Klitschko, Matchroom Sport promoter Eddie Hearn is looking to slide into the picture and match his fighter IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua against the 40-year-old Wladimir.

Hearn says the 26-year-old Joshua is all for the fight against Klitschko, and he thinks that he fancies his chances of beating the aging Ukrainian boxing star. Goodness knows, Wladimir has looked absolutely dreadful in his last two fights against Fury last November and Bryant Jennings in April of 2015.

Anthony Joshua vs. Hughie Fury not happening for November 26

hughie93

By Scott Gilfoid: For the boxing fans that were hoping to see unbeaten Hughie Fury as the next opponent for IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua for his fight on November 26, it’s not going to happen. Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn says that he’s far apart in the negotiations for what Fury wants and what he’s willing to give for a fight against Joshua on November 26.

Hearn says Hughie wants Joshua type money for the fight, and that’s not reasonable given that he’s a voluntary challenger. So instead of making the Joshua vs. Hughie fight on November 26, Hearn is saying that unbeaten #1 IBF mandatory challenger Joseph Parker is the leading candidate to get the fight against Joshua. Hearn says that Parker is being “reasonable” in what he’s asking for in the negotiations, and he feels he’s actually trying to make the fight. As such, the 6’4” Parker might get the fight simply by him not pricing himself out.

Joshua would like to see Golovkin at 175

Image: Joshua would like to see Golovkin at 175

By Scott Gilfoid: IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua says he would like to see IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin move up two entire divisions to fight someone from the 175lb division in order to replicate what welterweight Kell Brook did in moving up two divisions to fight at middleweight against Triple G.

Joshua says he would like to see how Golovkin would do under similar circumstances. Brook, who has always been a very heavy welterweight, was stopped in the 5th round by Golovkin last Saturday night on September 10 at the O2 Arena in London, England.

Brook suffered a broken right eye socket, which some boxing fans believe was the cause of the stoppage. I’ve seen the 5th round in slow motion, and I noticed that Brook stopping punching completely after getting hit with a brutal right hand from Golovkin thrown to the solar plexus.

The effects of the shot caused Brook to drop his hands completely and take five straight punches to the head. To show you how hurt Brook was, he didn’t even try to raise his gloves to protect his head. He was clearly hurt from the body punch.

Joshua doubts he’d be given credit if he beats Deontay

joshua56666444

By Scott Gilfoid: IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (17-0, 17 KOs) is bellyaching about not being given credit for his wins, and he feels that even if he defeated undefeated WBC champion Deontay “Bronze Bomber” Wilder (37-0, 36 KOs), he wouldn’t be given credit for the win by the boxing fans.

Joshua thinks the fans would see Wilder as a flawed fighter and wouldn’t give him the credit for the victory. You hate to see a fighter bellyache like Joshua is doing when he’s not having his back slapped for beating the guys that have dug up for him to fight by his promoter Eddie Hearn.

If Joshua had been fighting quality guys like Luis “The Real King Kong” Ortiz, Kubrat Pulev and Bryant Jennings, I think he would have been given his credit.

WBC president interested in Wilder vs. Joshua fight

Image: WBC president interested in Wilder vs. Joshua fight

By Scott Gilfoid: WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman is interested in a unification match between World Boxing Council heavyweight champion Deontay “Bronze Bomber” Wilder and IBF champion Anthony Joshua in the near future once Wilder comes back from his surgery on his injured right hand and bicep and fights the winner of the Bermane Stiverne vs. Alexander Povetkin fight.

Wilder, 30, isn’t expected back in the ring until the first quarter of 2017. He should be fighting the Stiverne-Povetkin winner at that time. Wilder has already said that he wants to fight Joshua and IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Tyson Fury in the near future.

Anthony Joshua to fight in Manchester on November 26

joshua56666444

By Scott Gilfoid: Well, we now know where IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (17-0, 17 KOs) will be making his next title defense of his International Boxing Federation title on November 26. The 26-year-old Joshua will be fighting against an opponent still to be determined at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, UK.

The move of the venue from the O2 Arena in London appears to be a decision done to expand the 2012 Olympic gold medalist’s base of boxing fans, as it lets him be seen by fans from different part of England.

It’s a similar move that we’ve seen middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin making in fighting on different coasts of the U.S in order to build up his fan bases in both sides of the United States rather than just on the East or West Coast.
