By Jim Dower: A fight between WBA heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin (24-0, 16 KO’s) and Dereck Chisora (15-3, 9 Ko’s) is a possibility for the fall, according to Povetkin’s manager Vlad Hrunov. Chisora, of course, will need to get his boxing license before he can make the Povetkin fight. He’s currently appealing to the British Boxing Board of Control to get his license, which was recently revoked, back.

Povetkin vs. Rahman on July 14th in Germany
By Sean McDaniel: WBA World heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin (24-0, 16 KO’s) will be making his third defense of his World Boxing Association title on July 14th against 39-year-old former IBF/WBC heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman (50-7-2, 41 KO’s) at a still to be determined venue in Germany, according to Dan Rafael. Povetkin, 32, recently barely got past cruiserweight challenger Marco Huck month, beating him by a 12 round majority decision in Germany. Povetkin came into that fight a little heavy and that really made the fight a lot harder than it should have been.
Povetkin and Huck – An out of shape paper champion against a one-armed rabbit puncher
By Scott Gilfoid: It’s hard to see what the big fuss was about with last Saturday’s fight between WBA World heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin (24-0, 16 KO’s) and cruiserweight Marco Huck (34-2, 25 KO’s). I wasn’t impressed by either fighter and saw it was a case of a couple of limited guys fighting over a paper title in Stuttgart, Germany. Povetkin won the fight by a 12 round majority decision by the scores 114-114, 116-113 and 116-112.

Povetkin must defend his WBA title against Rahman within four months
By Dan Ambrose: WBA World heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin (24-0, 16 KO’s) won’t have much time to enjoy his 12 round majority decision win over WBO cruiserweight champion Marco Huck (34-2, 25 KO’s) from last Saturday night, because the World Boxing Association is only giving the 32-year-old Povetkin a mere 120 days before he’s required to defend his WBA belt against 39-year-old #1 WBA contender Hasim Rahman (50-7-2, 41 KO’s).

Huck: I’m ready to beat Alexander and become heavyweight champion
(Photo Wende) By Jason Kim: Marco Huck (34-1, 25 KO’s) is hoping he’ll have the same kind of success tonight against WBA World heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin (23-0, 16 KO’s) that he’s had fighting in the cruiserweight division where he’s previously captured the WBO title and defended it successfully eight times, albeit not without a great deal of controversy due to his questionable win over Russian Denis Lebedev.
