Mayweather vs. Pacquiao: Shut Up and Watch The Show!

1-_DSC4060By Rusty Nate: It’s now just 3 days until the biggest fight of our generation, depending on your age and if you were alive and well watching that memorable night in Kinshasa, Zaire in 1974. We have the master boxer and defensive all-time great Floyd Mayweather Jr. (47-0, 26 KOs) taking on the record holding 8 weight world champion pressure fighter Manny Pacquiao (57-5-2, 38 KOs) this Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

I have not been this excited for a fight since Lennox Lewis vs. Mike Tyson. On that night we watched a master boxing lesson from Lennox before he stopped Mike in the 8th Round. The build up to that fight was immense, the media the fans and everyone around the world wanted to be involved in every aspect.

Klitschko: Losing a Trainer or Losing the Heart?

wladimir0843By Rusty Nate: Last weekend, we watched a lackluster performance from the long reigning heavyweight champion of the world Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs) with him beating Bryant Jennings (19-1, 10 KOs) by a 12 round unanimous decision. It’s not completely clear the reason behind the poor performance.

It could be that Wladimir has travelled so little in the recent years that making the trip over to the US for this flight simply didn’t agree with him. It could also be that the long career of the now 39 year old champion is finally starting to catch up with him.

Brook Accepts Khan’s BIG Mistake!!

khan67777By Rusty Nate: We have all heard the unbelievable offer Amir Khan has made to Kell Brook over the past 24 hours. “Kell if you want the fight, winner takes all”. My first reaction to this is WOW what a massive, massive mistake by Amir Khan to do this in front of the world.

I, along with millions of other boxing fans, could have predicted Kell’s response would come at the speed of light to that offer. Kell Brook is the IBF World Champion, he is undefeated, he is confident of victory every time he steps into the ring and he is a fully fledged Welterweight with good power and speed in his hands.

Amir Khan’s vanity

khan53By Rusty Nate: The situation surrounding IBF Welterweight Champion Kell Brook (34-0-23 KOs) and Amir Khan (30-3-19 KOs) is getting to the point of embarrassing for British Boxing.

Kell Brook recently defeated his mandatory IBF challenger Jo Jo Dan (34-3-18ko) by 4th round stoppage very comfortably. Brook barely took a decent shot and looked in control from the start, flooring Dan four times on route to victory.

Mayweather vs. Pacquiao – Scoring From The Heart

YouTube video

By Rusty Nate: Very few articles or comments have been relating to point scoring surrounding the upcoming Welterweight Mega fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr (47-0, 26 KOs) and Manny Pacquiao (57-5-2, 38 KOs) at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas on May 2nd.

This could be because the fight is still over 5 weeks away, although the buzz seems to be that of a fight happening this week, or it could be because the anticipation is so high that people are forgetting about the fundamental question marks that come with every major contest.

Adrien “The Problem” Broner: Is he heading towards greatness?

broner4561By Rusty Nate: THE PROBLEM is, I am confused surrounding any sort of buzz or excitement when it comes to former three division world champion Adrien Broner (30-1, 22 KOs), who recently defeated John Molina last Saturday night by a 12 round unanimous decision on the Premier Boxing Champions card on NBC from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

I am pretty open minded when it comes to young talent and the up and comers in boxing. Some take a while to really progress to great performances and others seem to just go unnoticed until they pull off that huge win that no one saw coming and suddenly their careers are propelled into the elite level superstar category.
