Gervonta Davis has apparently invited Stephen Fulton to meet him at lightweight, although the seriousness of that offer is unclear. The account linked to Tank also told another fan he is fighting George Kambosos Jr., leaving the Fulton exchange looking more like an informal invitation than a developing matchup.
Even if Davis means it, Fulton would have to answer a basic question before anyone discusses his chances: can he reliably make 135 pounds after missing weight for his last two scheduled fights?
“Yea come to 135 we can meet,” @MoneyTwofly posted on X, quoting Fulton’s “Agreed.”
Shakur responded with a string of laughing emojis, but the invitation itself offers more to discuss than his reaction. Fulton’s recent performances and weight failures would make him a questionable opponent for Davis, despite the recognition he earned as a two-division champion.
Fulton’s December 2025 fight against O’Shaquie Foster was contracted at 130 pounds for Foster’s WBC super featherweight title. Fulton came in at 132, prompting the contest to be reclassified as an interim WBC lightweight title fight. Foster then outboxed him decisively. The change in sanctioning allowed the fight to proceed; it did not demonstrate that Fulton had successfully established himself at lightweight.
His next scheduled appearance produced a larger weight failure. The Liam Wilson fight in July was moved from 130 to an agreed 133-pound catchweight, yet Fulton came in at 139.5 pounds, and the bout was canceled. That was still 4.5 pounds above the limit proposed in the Davis invitation.
Those misses do not prove Fulton cannot make 135, but they give Davis’s camp reason to demand reassurance before building a card around him. Making the limit would only resolve the first concern. Fulton would then face a dangerous puncher after Foster exposed how ineffective his offense could become against a skilled opponent.
For now, the Kambosos comment leaves Fulton’s invitation without a clear path forward. Until there is evidence of negotiations, it remains social media talk with an unanswered weight question.
