Diego Pacheco Risks His Position Against Darius Fulghum

By Boxing News 24 Desk - 10/02/2026 - Comments

Diego Pacheco will face Darius Fulghum on November 14, with DAZN confirming the super middleweight matchup will air live on DAZN and TNT. For the unbeaten Pacheco, it is another contender fight where defeat could cost him more than victory delivers.

Fulghum gets an opportunity to beat a highly ranked opponent and improve his chances of reaching a world title fight. Pacheco needs to protect his position while showing that these additional fights are making him better prepared to challenge a champion.

“Two Super Middleweight contenders will face each other on Nov 14,” DAZN Boxing announced on X. “Diego Pacheco vs. Darius Fulghum is one to not miss.”

Pacheco enters at 26-0 with 19 knockouts, while Fulghum brings a 15-1-1 record with 13 stoppages. Earlier reporting identified the matchup as the headliner for Matchroom’s “The Fight” card.

The knockout totals offer a selling point, but Pacheco’s performance will be more revealing than whether he adds another stoppage. At 6-foot-4, he needs to use his jab and distance to make Fulghum work for opportunities, rather than allowing exchanges that give the challenger a chance to change the fight with one punch.

Fulghum’s best opportunity may come from making Pacheco uncomfortable at closer range. If Pacheco lets him get set and unload, he would be surrendering some of the advantages that should make this a manageable fight.

Pacheco’s title plans remain the larger question. Reporting linked him to the vacant WBO route against Janibek Alimkhanuly before he proceeded with Fulghum, although that does not establish that he rejected a formal title offer.

There is a reasonable argument for gaining experience before facing someone like Janibek. That argument becomes harder to sustain if Pacheco wins without demonstrating anything beyond what he has already shown.

Fulghum has an obvious reward to chase on November 14. Pacheco needs a performance that explains why another contender fight was worth the time.
