Bill Haney Targets November 28 for Shakur Stevenson

By Boxing News 24 Desk - 10/08/2026 - Comments

Bill Haney wants Shakur Stevenson to fight Devin Haney on November 28 in Atlanta, putting a specific date and location behind a matchup that has spent months tangled in negotiations.

The date would leave Shakur just over seven weeks to prepare if the deal were completed immediately. Each additional week spent arguing would reduce that window, making the schedule another potential obstacle after the prolonged dispute over weight.

“There has been a challenge to their team to take the fight at 145 and a half and take it on the 28th of November in Atlanta,” Bill said to True Media podcast.

Bill later repeatedly identified 145 pounds as the final offer, consistent with the catchweight already discussed publicly. Asked again about the timing, he confirmed: “The offer is on the table for him to fight in November.”

Shakur looks more likely to reject Bill’s proposed date than agree to fight on November 28. An old-school fighter might accept the date and get to work after spending months pursuing the matchup. Shakur’s approach has been more cautious, with lengthy arguments over the conditions under which he will face the bigger Haney.

Accepting November 28 would also mean allowing the Haney camp to set the timetable. Shakur has negotiated as though he views himself as the A-side, or at least Devin’s equal. He could reject the date or push for a later fight rather than appear to be working to Bill’s schedule.

His current training situation is unknown, but any further delay would make November 28 harder to meet. The two camps could settle the weight dispute only to spend more time arguing over when to fight.

Bill said DAZN has made an offer, and he isn’t talking about anyone else for Devin. He wants Shakur next, but naming November 28 in Atlanta doesn’t mean Shakur will take it. Bill can push for that date all he wants. He still needs Shakur to agree, and after months of back-and-forth, that could take longer than he hopes.
