Undercard results:

In the co-feature bout, WBC interim welterweight champion Mario Barrios (29-2, 18 KOs) defeated the speedy-handed Fabian Maidana (22-3, 16 KOs) by a 12-round unanimous decision. Barrios dropped Maidana in the third round with a right hand. The scores were 116-111, 116-111, and 116-111.

Despite possessing superior hand speed and arguably better power, Maidana failed to throw enough punches to take advantage of that. Barrios’ right eye closed up in the later rounds, but he was still able to dominate due to Maidana not throwing much back.

WBC interim featherweight champion Brandon Figueroa (25-1-1, 19 KOs) stopped former super bantamweight champion Jesse Magdaleno (29-3, 18 KOs) by a ninth round knockout.

Figueroa, 27, landed a beautiful left to Magdaleno’s body in round nine, sending him down on the canvas. The referee then counted him out. The stoppage occurred at 2:59 of the ninth.

Magdaleno was cut over his left eye from a clash of heads in round two. In the fourth, Figueroa hurt the 32-year-old Magdaleno with a low blow that had him down for almost five minutes. From that point on, Magdaleno looked tired and was getting worked over against the ropes in rounds five through nine.

The win for Figueroa was his third straight since losing to Stephen Fulton in 2021.
