Tank Davis Promises Aggression in June 15th Title Defense Against Frank Martin

WBA ‘regular’ lightweight champion Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis sent an ominous message to challenger Frank Martin today in their kickoff press conference, telling him that he’s going to be taking out his built-up aggression on him when they meet on June 15th on Amazon Prime Video PPV at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Trash Talk and Tense Faceoff

#2 WBA Martin (18-0, 12 KOs) was talking over Tank Davis when he was at the podium, saying what he has in store for him. Later, when the two fighters faced off, Tank Davis (29-0, 27 KOs) was jawing at him the entire time, looking like he wanted to throw down.

At one point, Tank slapped Martin’s hand away, showing that he was capable of exploding into violence if he dared to cross the line.

Davis Promises an Explosive PPV Event

“Even if the June 15th PPV was $100, it’s worth it. I’m not saying it’s going to be $100, but if it were $100, it’s worth it for sure,” said Gervonta Davis to the media during today’s kick-off press conference for his title defense against Frank Martin on June 15th in Las Vegas.

Hopefully, it isn’t a $100 PPV event on June 15th because a lot of boxing fans will balk at that price. Tank is the guy that fans are paying to see.

No one was asking for Davis to fight Frank Martin, who had major problems in his last fight against Artem Harutyunyan last July.

Former WBC super middleweight champion David Benavidez is in the chief support bout against Oleksandr Gvozdyk, but that’s not a fight that fans are interested in seeing.

Personal Grudge Fuels Davis’s Aggression

“I’m glad to be back in the ring. I’ve been off for a long time. I want to be flawless and do what I do best and that’s give you fans the best boxing you’ve seen up to date,” said Tank Davis.

“He’s [Frank Martin] a frontrunner. I’m telling you, it’s a different beast in front of you. There’s nobody walking with him, holding his hand. It’s not going to be the same on June 15th, and there’s a lot of s*** built up. I’m going to take it out on him.

“I’m sorry it’s going to be him,” said Tank Davis.
