Ryan Garcia And His Five Step Program to Greatness

Ryan “King Ry” Garcia may have broken the code to beat 99% of the opponents that he will ever face. Not many boxers have taken this route before and not many can pull it off the way Garcia has.

Garcia has a huge social media following in the millions and the pretty boy good looks to get people excited about his fights. He loves to play mind games with his opponents and speaks reasonably well while on camera. I can predict many boxers who have the same mix of things going on, will try and steal Garcia’s gameplan.

The first thing that any boxer needs to win, is to be a decent boxer. Not just any social media star can go out there and tangle with a professional. If I was someone like Jake Paul, I would be paying real close attention to what Garcia is doing.

Garcia is a great boxer with a knockout left hook, as Devin the Dream Haney can testify to. Being a good boxer isn’t enough for Garica’s gameplan but it is one of the critical pieces necessary for him to win every fight going forward.

The next thing that someone needs, is to be young. Men under 31 are great at taking off a lot of weight quickly and then bulking back up on fight day. Garcia was rumored to be a middle weight on fight night, weighing over 160 pounds.

Older fighters struggle to take the weight off which leaves them weak and they aren’t able to blow back up in weight or move like they once did during their younger years. Ryan Garcia can do this and give himself a big advantage over smaller fighters in the junior welterweight division. The next part of Garcia’s gameplan, is a title.

Plenty of boxers have shown that you don’t need a title to be famous or make a lot of money. Garcia knows this, his promoter, Oscar De La Hoya knows this. Fighting for a title makes the money, not necessarily having it.

Garcia is good at pumping up a crowd of people to buy his fights. He does this because he is a showman with a huge social media following. Any boxer around his weight would love to fight Garcia because he is undoubtedly the A side of any fight.

Any contender out there would rather face Garcia than any of the champions out there. He brings the money because he’s so famous which brings up another critical part of his game, misdirection.

Garcia showed a masterclass in how to beat a tough boxer in Haney. He made Haney drain down to 140 pounds and then purposely came in at 143 pounds. Garcia couldn’t get away with that when he was facing Gervonta Tank Davis but he could with Oscar Jurado and Devin Haney.

Garcia didn’t have to kill himself to get down and weight and was able to keep his power. Haney, despite his titles and accolades, was not going to walk away from his biggest payday ever. Haney was worth almost six million before the Garcia fight.

The Garcia fight alone netted him between $15-20 million dollars. Garcia has the money, he made $30 million fighting Gervonta Davis and used that money to pay Haney half a million per pound that Garcia was over.

Haney wouldn’t walk away from that. Haney is also a warrior that takes on the tough fights, Garcia used his nature against him. It reminded this writer of when Jose Luis Castillo baited Diego Corrales into fighting him. Castillo purposely came into the fight way overweight because he knew Corrales wouldn’t back down.

Corrales got KOed just like Haney was about to be. Unfortunately for Castillo, he tried to do the same thing again and Corrales declined the fight. Corrales was popular but not Garcia popular.

With Garcia’s current gameplan, he could knock out any of the champions at 135 and 147 by agreeing on a weight and then coming in over weight. They are still going to want the fight. Feared puncher Subriel Matias wouldn’t turn down that money even if Garcia showed up at 154.

Garcia has mentioned wanting to go up in weight to fight WBC super welterweight champion Sebastian Fundora. Garcia could show up to that fight weighing 160 pounds and know that Fundora would take the bait. Even Terence Bud Crawford would still agree to fight and overweight Garcia. Finally it is the last part of his plan.

The last part is to possibly get some medical help. The rumor mill from respected networks CBS and ESPN is reporting that Garcia tested positive for Ostarine and possibly 19-norandrosterone. Ostarine can be found easily in some places and is for muscle building.

Garcia isn’t even denying it, he proudly posted on his X (formerly known as Twitter) that it was his bad and he shouldn’t have taken it. It ultimately doesn’t matter. The public will remember Garcia knocking Haney silly, not his PED use. Garcia will still get the big fights and can beat anyone.

In closing, Ryan Garcia is a genius. His five step program of beating anyone can be replicated by anyone that follows his path.

Be able to blow up in weight quickly, have a huge social media following, be worth millions and able to guarantee that your opponent will also make millions, purposely come in over weight and that Performance Enhancing Drugs.

I believe that Garcia could beat Crawford, Errol “the Truth” Spence and Jaron “Boots” Ennis with this plan. He could fly into Tim Tsyzu’s hometown and lay a beating on him with that five step program. The sky is the limit for Ryan Garica, proving why he is King Ry.
