Devin Haney exhibits Poor Sportsmanship

Devin Haney is crying to the heavens that he has been cheated out of something after being nearly humiliated during his match with Ryan “King Ry” Garcia at the Barclays Center in April. Garcia was beating Haney from post to pillar, and the only thing Devin Haney could do was soak up a beating.

The only thing that his father and head trainer Bill Haney could do is watch his son get destroyed in the ring by a laughing Garcia.

Neither of the Haney’s enjoyed watching little Devin get blasted to the canvas again and again. Haney was actually dropped four times in the seventh and Garcia only got credit for one. Garcia’s left hook found Haney’s weak chin again and again. Since it was his first loss, instead of taking it like a man, Haney has thrown excuses around.

Haney’s first excuse is that Garcia came in heavy after telling him to come in at 140. Haney probably feels that Garcia should have let him know that prior to weighing in so he could come in heavy as well. That wasn’t in their gentlemen’s agreement. $500000 per pound overweight was. Garcia paid that money and Devin decided to go through with the fight.

So what Garcia played him. Haney should have been more worried about eating Garcia’s left hook instead of Garcia’s eating habits which made him come in overweight. The Haneys are also crying about PED use.

Ryan Garcia has reportedly tested positive for PED’s. Haney feels that his being beaten up because of PED use by Garcia should make the fight a no-contest. Garcia has admitted on his Twitter that he did take a banned substance known as Ostarine.

The problem is, Garcia is big money. If Haney had known that Garcia was going to come in heavy and on PED’s would that have changed the outcome of the fight?

The answer is no. Devin Haney is a great fighter but he doesn’t have the following of Garcia. Haney wouldn’t give up the 1.5 million dollars for Garcia coming in three pounds heavy. You or I would take the fight outright for the 1.5 million and so would many boxers out there. Haney could have walked away from the fight right there but the three pounds wasn’t worth the cash. Garcia knew this before hand and knew Haney would be stupid enough to take it. Just like with the PED’s.

Anyone who thinks Haney would walk away from $20 million dollars because his opponent is on PED’s is delusional. Haney would still take the fight and believe in his abilities. This is three or four times larger than his largest payday. Haney would have fought the drugged-up Garcia just to get at that life-changing cash. He could quit boxing today and live modestly for the rest of his life. Haney does not see things as being unfair, he just wants another crack at getting some dough.

Haney has been angling for a fair fight. Haney knows that Garcia holds all of the cards. Sticking with the facts, Haney wants Garcia to come in at an agreed weight and PED-free. Why should Garcia agree with that when he can come in heavy and drugged and beat up people like Haney?

He can laugh and showboat in the ring while Devin tries aimlessly to track him down and walk Devin into a juiced-up right hand.

Even with this failed drug test (Garcia admitted to Ostarine use on X, formerly known as Twitter), Garcia will still make the big dough while people like Haney cry about it. Haney even had George Kambosos call Garcia a dog act for the PED use.

Don’t get it twisted, Kambosos wishes it was him getting slapped around like a rag dog instead of Haney. He would have over $20 million in the bank and sitting at home with servants feeding him grapes. Even Bill Haney would have taken the fight, despite telling Garcia that he tried to hurt his baby.

In closing, Devin Haney needs to stop whining. He can fight the heavy and juiced-up King Ry at a later date and make another 20 million if he agrees to bow down to the king. Kambosos and all of these other boxers need to be quiet as well.

They know that they would have loved to trade in a loss for $20 million dollars. Ryan even joked on X that he needs more steroids and that he is addicted. Haney knew who he was fighting to begin with. It isn’t anyone’s fault but his own that Garcia beat him like a rented mule with a field to plow.
