De La Hoya Predicts Haney – Garcia Sellout, High PPV Numbers

Promoter Oscar De La Hoya predicts a sellout and huge PPV numbers for Saturday’s fight between Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia on DAZN PPV at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

It’s a bit hard to believe that Haney-Garcia will sell out, given that the Barclays Center is showing tons of tickets that are still available. Moreover, there’s no buzz for the fight that would suggest high PPV numbers on DAZN. Whose fault is that?

Some feel it’s the Haney factor due to his boring fighting style, but others feel that Ryan is at fault for his strange behavior and not talking much about the fight.

When you have a pure boxer like Haney, who tends to hold, move, and jab a lot, those types don’t do well on PPV. Fans want to see drama, and you don’t get that with Haney. Never. The only drama you see with Haney is when he shoves his opponents during face-offs.

Guaranteed Sellout and Massive PPV Numbers

“Ryan Garcia is the cash cow. We’re going to have a sellout crowd on Saturday night. The PPV numbers are going to go through the roof. Not becaue of Devin. Because of Ryan,” said promoter Oscar De La Hoya to the media about his projections for Saturday’s fight between Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia on DAZN PPV at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

It’s possible the fight will do good numbers on PPV, but not sell out due to the ticket prices and the lack of interest from New Yorker sin this match.

“It’s crazy. I don’t know if you’ve heard this quote. ‘Just because you beat Tiger Woods doesn’t make you Tiger Woods.’ Well, guess what? Ryan Garcia, he’s literally like a Tiger Woods. Whether he wins or he loses, the money follows him. The publicity follows him, and that’s why we’re here today to watch a big event.

“Now you can imagine, you see how big he is, now you can imagine how depleted he was when he fought Tank,” said De La Hoya about Ryan. “Any expert will tell you that one pound will make a difference or a half a pound. So, we’re pretty glass there’s no rehydration clause here. Ryan will be 100%,” said De La Hoya.
